Thinking of training 5x a week come 2012 with 3 of the days involving Oly lifts. Big bulk with the goal of maximum strength gains. I've had two ideas... Which one would you guys prefer?
Body Weight - 75kg Bench - 140kg Squat - 180kg Deadlift - 180kg Age - 21

Haven't posted up in a while as I pinched a nerve in my lower back re-racking 170kg after a set of squats. I allowed my pelvis to tilt forward which seemed to have pinch a nerve/disk between two vertebrae. It made spinal flexion painful with random shooting pains. Skipped lower body this week and just incorporated some lower back strengthening into my upper session today. Back felt 100% but I don't know about heavy deadlift/squats so I will be going for reps. Maybe try squat 140x15-20 on monday.. Todays session was fun as I did some exercises I don't normally do. Bench Press: 120kg - 5 130kg - 1 120kg - 3 110kg - 5 100kg - 8 Pendly BB Row: (pretty strict BB row bent over at 90 degrees standing on a platform) 60kg - 10 80kg - 10 90kg - 8 (PB as I haven't done these in a year or two) 80kg - 8 Military Press: 60kg - 7 60kg - 5 60kg - 5 Rack Pulls: (just did the weight my mate was doing. Pretty comfortable) 140kg - 5 150kg - 5 Pull Ups - 15 Dips: 30kg - 8 BW - failure Curls: 2x8

Fun session. Tried rack lockouts for the first time instead of close grip bench press as my mate was going for 140kg.. Ain't posted in my journal in agist! News: I had some time off over Dec/Jan and got fat. Then went back to training and ruined my back. I'm actually heavier than I have ever been but not as strong. I'm quickly adding weight back onto the bar though. Squats and deadlifts are going up more slowly as my back is vulnerable atm.

Strength on it's way back up. Upper body nearly at 100%. Lower body not near due to back injury but the weights are still climbing slowly. Just made a mini mix to start of the weekend. Various genres. http://soundcloud.com/jac...mini-mix-various

New - Should have be on for a bench pb next week. Back is still feeling dodgy so my lower body lifts are still way down. Not enjoying lower body training at all so might switch to doing it once a week now and just do conditioning stuff. Squats + deadlift superset or sumin with 120-140. Tune for the weekend.

Well I have had a rough outline of abs all my life. This xmas-new years I barely trained and went mental partying all the time. Ended up with no abs for the first time. I have been eating clean for the last month or so and I am getting leaner by the week. Not ripped but looking decent.

Failed 140kg bench ahh. Technique was a bit off yesterday and I slipped out of position on my right side, but I can't lie it was simply too heavy. I did 135 before so I should have probs gone for 137.5 instead. Lower body is coming up. I squatted 150x5 followed by 150x7. I recon I could have done 150x8 if I tried on the first set so not too bad. My old pb was 180x1, 170x5, 160x6 so not too bad. My reppage is decent but strength no where near. Then did rack pulls 180x5 followed by 200x1.

Looks like you 'anyone's at it and didnt get the line right if the chest. I know you do tng benching but have you tried sinking the bar into the body before pressing. May aid you getting a consistent line if the chest. May feel harder to begin with but should help your control. Plus help timing of the drive off the chest. Need to keep tight off course. Good effort though.

Ok Iain I will start doing some more paused sets. My technique has been sloppy recently. I know if I can get it spot on I will manage 140 very soon. Deadlift today. Did 160x5 so 10kg off my best now which is good. Will see what I can do with 165 next week.
