if i spend £100 on supps itll probs last alot longer than a month! i would spend most of it, as above, on whey, casein, a blend, creatine, fish oils, multi vit, vit c, vit d, digestive enzyme the rest on broccoli, fish, coconut milk and oil and peanut butter!

I usually buy 3 months worth at a time but If I had £100/month I'd probably get Superpump Max Size On Myofusion

Thanks for all the suggestions fellas. My typical days diet is 0800 protein shake 40g with semi skimmed milk (plus 2 scoops oats if i have any in) 0900 banana 1030 protein bar 1230 lunch - 3 or 4 eggs on wholemeal toast 1600 protein shake 40g with water (plus oats if i have any in) 1715 TRAIN 1800 protein shake 40g with dextrose or An allinone shake if have any 1900 evening meal - usually fish or chicken based with veg etc 2200 casein shake if i have any in 40g with water, if not - standard protein shake 40g with water. You can see from above why i go through quite a lot of whey and need at least 2 tubs a month which comes to £70-80 nowadays.....not leaving a lot of cash left for bcaa, omega 3's, creatine, oats, dextrose, n.o or much else. I could buy more food but with my current diet fits in with work n that so it'd be difficult to change it much to be honest.

If you are just starting out you DON'T need all this protein and drinks. Not leaving much cash because you DON'T need bcaa and other crap. The only drink I would take at the moment not knowing how much you weigh is after you finish your workout. The rest you need to be eating proper food I would replace the whole lot with a meal and try and aim for 6 meals a day. You will never grow with this diet and it's not very healthy only having one meal a day. No disrespect but anyone with more than half a brain would know this isn't correct even without working out this wouldn't be correct so imagine all the hard training and this crap diet. Here is some good info on bodybuilding diets http://articles.muscletal...uilding-nutrition.aspx Also look on youtube and see how bodybuilders not just the pro's make meals etc You really need to do some homework and research

Don't hold back TooBIG say what you really think ;-) I dot not think the amout of protein is as bad as the dependancy on whey to achieve it. Throw in some tubs of cottage cheese or tuna where you would have to use a shake and vary it up.

It's sh!t what more can I say and adding some cheese and tuna isn't gonna do much due to his massive amount of carbs missing. If he eats proper meals he will grow more then any supplement. You need the foundation of a proper diet before even thinking about adding supps to it. I would love to know who told him this diet. I made the same mistakes when I first started...

I agree low on carbs - though I personally think too many go in too high on these initially - I actually think an increase in good fats is even more of an issue.

Wow, you want to spend £100 a month on supplements. You should spend that on food. You diet is shocking. You don't have an actual meal for 4 1/2 hours? Breakfast is just a protein shake and a banana 1/2 hour later? 4 shakes and 2 meals. This is where you should be pal: http://www.muscletalk.co.uk/Diet-Nutrition-f11.aspx

Supps - multi vit like next gen by reflex, extra vit c , krill oil and b12 plus glutamine is all I take. (whey is a food so dont count and not really bothered with creatine)

what's the reason behind people recommending casein? I've given up on it having used even the clean MPI to me it's useless anticatabolic-fancy way to say it;s not anabolic imo if i want it for a slower release of amino acids I would choose egg white powder and flavour it myself combined with whey isolate for a more of a medium release of amino acids to blood stream. + it's carcinogenic not on last place but for this board

Thanks for the comments on my diet guys, I've not been advised this diet...just sort of fell into it whilst trying to increase protein but not add too many carbs as want to lower bf as well as get lean gains. My current stats are age 42 height 6'2 weight - 14st 2 (I did get this up to around 15st 2 about a year or so ago when i was eating a lot more solid food but my abs were not visible at all so the look wasnt what i wanted) chest 43-44 waist 34 bi's 16.5 I've been training properly (i think ?!) for about 2-3 years now (at home though due to finance/time etc but have a decent home gym setup....smith machine, bowflex dumbells, pullup bar) and my goal is not to be MASSIVE but to be big, defined and this is the main one...Lean (ie I strive to have all my abs visible rather than just the top ones). If anyone (TOOBIG) has any suggestions as to where to tweak my diet i'd appreciate them (though it has to be light on the finances and be able to fit into my daily routine, ie 9-5 at work etc)..........standing by for my slating haha
