Re:I think maybe it's time to try an attempt of becoming serious again - 29 April 2010 20:29
Sorry guys Been really busy.

1MR congrats on winning the shape up

That competition I did... I got 2nd place and qualified for nationals, but wasn't happy with my performance at all. Was out in the sun for straight 7 hours, tried pacing myself and ran out of time with a lot left in the tank, hurt myself on the press and lost about 1/2 the time(30sec) recovering etc. Got what I wanted though. All part of an experience.

Training has been good. I've been doing more bodybuilding oriented routine for about a month now in order to mass up a bit - I'm looking the very best I have IMO, funny because NOW I don't care too much about it, I'll throw up a couple of pics later tonight.

couple of high lights from last update: managed a 140lbs thick db press, got a few singles with 185lbs rolling thunder at the end of a workout.... going to work to a heavy single on DL in the gym tonight (will tape it if it's a pb)

Weighed in at 169lbs before the workout with clothes and shoes, so I'm about 166lbs

April 29

Warm up
100lbs barbell: power clean, press, back squat, thrust, front squat - all without letting go off the bar - repeat few times. and some box jumps. then lots of stretching
Deadlifts (No belt, nothing)
1x2 @ 135lbs
1x2 @ 225lbs
1x1 @ 315lbs
1x1 @ 405lbs
1x1 @ 425lbs
1x1 @ 455lbs
1x1 @ 475lbs (very smooth)
1x0 @ 485lbs (got it to mid-thigh, didn't want to hitch it up as I just recovered my lower back)
Hyper Extensions (big motion, with 10kg plate)
4x12
Pull Ups (very strict and slow)
15, 10

Deadlift felt good, that's a 2.86xbodyweight without a belt. I'll probably hit 5 plates(224.5kg in USA) next time. Was surprised at my weight, thought it had gone up... think I should be happy about that. I'll get up pics tomorrow, cam got to charge

Lol thanks mate

May 27 .. felt like killing shoulders/traps
Barbell 1 Arm Snatches
10 each hand with 90lbs (including bar)
tried 135lbs (managed to power clean it with 1 hand and jerk it a couple of times)
KB Snatches
5x5 each arm @ 65lbs
Axle Clean and Press
total 20 reps, singles and doubles with very short breaks @ 175lbs
Barbell C&P (was just sitting there so picked it up and did some work)
3x10 @ 135lbs

May 29 .. just one of those cardio circuits i'm doing a lot lately
50 ropes, 8 burpees, 6 clapping push ups, 5 pull ups, 10 hanging leg raises, 20 crunches ...... 5 rounds no break

I've been recording my diet for the last couple of weeks and I'm constantly and easily hitting 4500cals/day up to 6000... burning way too much - I'm down to just under 170 again.

My focus is on boxing now. I'm going for some sparring sessions every now and then, and plan on joining this club to try out some real fights. Feeling really c0cky but will be interesting.

Got more time now

Want to go to about 180lbs (from 170)

Going back to a stricter week-routine format

Routine
Sunday: Circuit/Boxing
Monday: Chest/Back
Tuesday: Trail run
Wednesday: HIIT
Thursday: Squats/Deads
Friday: Circuit/Boxing
Saturday: Shoulders/Mix

Diet
6-7 meals a day
about 50g protein each on average
lots of fat (nuts, seeds, fish oil, beef, eggs, heavy on the almond butter)
sort of TKD (carbs only first meal, meal before workout, and post workout + post post workout if I feel I need it)

I weighed 164 at the gym (scaled it against other things to double check). Was surprised..

280lbs each hand (pick up from few inches below knee+hold for 30 or so sec.. grip didn't give - felt like my chest was ripping off)
Front Squats (dead after farmers)
4x5 @ 225lbs

Friday July 2
stretching some cardio; traps are so sore I can't do anything

Satuday July 3
seeing I still can't extend my arms above my head I'm going to do cardio today and hope for shoulders tomorrow

Ok, no way in hell I'm going to stick to that routine above. I don't like splits. Training should depend on how you feel that day, no whining though.

10 rounds of: (50 Jump Ropes, 12 Sit ups, 6 Burpees)
Timed myself, got between 12 and 13 minutes. just over 1 minute per round.. pretty good
going to beat that time next time.. and going to start timing my stuff for self competition
3x8 chin ups afterwards

Wednesday July 14
walked all day

Thursday July 15
Bench Press/Push Ups
10x(135lbs/10) 8(135lbs/8) 6(135lbs/6) 4(135lbs/4) ... as little rest as I could

Re:18yo Skinny Kid vs Heavy Weights *pics@5* - 17 December 2010 06:26
Lost some weight, off my body and lifts. College is distracting.

Time to get back into this full time. got a 6 week break and going to see what I can do

At maybe 165lbs now, I had more mass when I was 14... But, I'm very lean with lots of veins, and conditioning is way up there. Proportionally still very strong.

I want to get to 180lbs quickly and eventually work towards being 200 again.

Goal: gain serious mass, keep up conditioning

First day back at the gym tomorrow, going to hit every lift with light weights and figure out whether I'm doing more bodybuilding kinda routine or powerlifting, might hit up my strongman training crew too
