cu3ed Cause the s2 battery sucks as it is jsut with background services on? Never had to much of a problem with mine. If you did you could always carry a spare with you unlike the iphone. Although then again that would mean carrying something extra. But like I said I've had my S2 for about 10 month now and not really had a problem with the battery. Mick

My experience of the SGS2 & SDHC cards was a bit dodgy - For some reason it kept "Media Scanning" the external SD , I tried several different cards and got the same result. I noticed lots of others having the problem on various forums with no resolve so I ended up running it without a card. - In the end I got rid of it by flashing a custom ROM. Really you could buy any old Android and bung a big card in it , stick Doubletwist on it and bobs your uncle. I doubt there'd be a lot to gain by using a top end device. Personally I'd go for a 64gb iPhone though and live with the awful, awful sound quality - but each to their own !

cu3ed Cause the s2 battery sucks as it is jsut with background services on? Started gym session earlier at 14% battery, turned screen and 3G off and listened to music in gym, an hour later it's at 9%...

you think that's bad? could have listened to music full volume non stop for 3 hours before it died from <15% battery? I think it's fine.

THats pretty terrible for sole music playback. And you wouldnt get 3hrs, its well known when you get below 10% in lithium batteries they fall off a cliff edge, you get about 1/3 of the time under 10%. Theirs kinda designed to discharge quickly that way.

Funny that as I just ran Mapmyrun with GPS+3G/H on and music playback for half an hour, started at 8% and finished at 4%.

Im a sucker for battery life, needs to have a long life and Dr Zs comments about the S2 don't sound too encouraging? How about this.. Has anyone ever successfully ran Snow Leopard or Lion OS on a VM workstation on a PC? Think I might give that a go later and run itunes though that.

You mean running a Hackentosh? Man that's filled with more ball aches than I would want to know about lol, technically all the drivers etc are supplied ( but not for you PC configuration)..jesus...sore head just thinking about it... just ****ing use the PC iTunes lol. and iTunes doesn't just run better just because of the MAC OS, its how the MAC os works on the hardware is the key.

No the S2 is pretty good really, you won't find much better from any other Android phone , but I really think to have a decent experience getting a custom ROM running is essential - I am not Anti-Samsung by any means ... in fact I have just bought my 3rd Samsung in 6 months (2 x Galaxy notes & an S2) ... Whereas the last iPhone I bought was in Nov 2010 !) but unfortunately Samsungs Software guys go out of their way ruin perfectly good hardware. Interestingly another Android phone I bought recently is the SE Xperia Play - I made the mistake of picking up one with an un-unlockabe boot loader so I am stuck on the stock rom , but sound quality seems excellent and battery life is also brilliant. perhaps thats an option ?
