Its what I would recommend as well, no smart phones are any good with music playback really, get a good phone and a iPod or sommin and you would be FAR better set up both battery wise for each device. If it happens to be that you need that space for music.

Get a standard 8 or 16GB phone and whack a 64GB microSD card in, you'll have 72/80GB then... - http://www.amazon.co.uk/S...=1328819751&sr=8-3 no smart phones are any good with music playback really ..eh?

Quality wise none of them are great, and not many have the easier way of accessing your music, tried numerous Droid players, even the music access on the iPhone is fiddly compared to an iPod, and Windows phone is possibly the worst.

I've used the iphone for years now. I like only having one thing to carry around and having the handsfree already in my ears whilst listening to music. Thats really why I want the 64gb as I need space for the music. Quality hasnt been an issue, thats fine, its just an absolute pain in the @rse with regards to syncing / updating etc.. Paracelsus Get a standard 8 or 16GB phone and whack a 64GB microSD card in, you'll have 72/80GB then... -http://www.amazon.co.uk/S...=1328819751&sr=8-3 Yea I've been looking into this, but been reading that they need to be formatted with the phone etc.. and normal micro SD cards wont work?? http://www.eweek.com/c/a/Mobile-and-Wireless/Windows-Phone-7-Makes-Removable-Memory-NonRemovable-210315/ This article seems somewhat contradictory, stating that they'll work, but once formatted wont work with anything else, but it then says that the cards have to meet minimum specs, but says that the specs are unavailable

cu3ed Ill say it to make sure, as good as I think WP is, dont by it for music playback. Received loud n clear. Don't get me wrong I love itunes and the iphone set up. It just f*cks me off. I've even resorted to having a VM computer running itunes and absolutely nothing else to try to isolate any issues and I still have problems syncing and updating. Have been through a number of handsets as well, so its not a hardware issue. I just think they're a bit sh!t

Well Galaxy S2 with the App "Poweramp" as your player, and a large mSD card ( no formatting issues) is your best bet.

So the Galaxy has 16 or 32gb internal storage and a slot for up to another 64gb in theory?

Yes mate, but say you put on a lot of tracks on the mSD card, and on the internal memory, thing like Poweramp will find ALL the songs and list them as one device, also if you get a mSD card, make sure its a Class 10, not lower.

Sign up to iTunes Match. OK, so you'd have to delete and download albums as you still only have the same amount of space but ALL of your music goes wherever you go.

gwilym Yea I've been looking into this, but been reading that they need to be formatted with the phone etc.. and normal micro SD cards wont work?? Not with Android. Just pop it in, format, then put your **** tons of music on lol. WP7 are weird with SD cards, that's their own issue. Or should I just buckle and buy a Mac I'm assuming most the issues I have are "PC" related!! Eh? How would a mac help you have 64GB of music on a phone? The issue is nothing to do with PCs. You need a phone with expandable storage that's all.

iTunes on a Mac is light and day from iTunes on a PC.

He said he doesn't like the effort involved with syncing the device and a mac running iTunes is far far smoother than a PC running iTunes so it will at least take away some of the issues.

I would definatly get the S2 and just put the extra memory in, I've an ipod and cant tell any difference in quality at all, plus like mentioned whats the point in carrying 2 different things around with you. cant see the point in any form of mp3 players or ipods now days.
