Hi Guys and Gals!
         I have just bought my first batch of Anabol which I plan to start taking in 3 weeks time, as the chap I got it form said I should get abit stronger before I do. I have also ordered the strongest milk thistle I can find, and will start taking it as soon as that arrrives so I my liver has a head start! I am also following a mens health diet plan for building muscle, I am also going to stop drinking for the next 18 weeks, which wont be hard as I dont drink much normally anyway.
         When I start I am planning on taking 20 mg a day, so 2x 5mg tabs in the morning then 2 x 5mg in the eve for 6 weeks, then have 6 weeks off then 6 weeks back on  then stop all together.
         
          Is this a good way to go? Should I be taking anything during the 6 week break and when I come off? Sorry for the long message!

    Hmmmmn....mens health diet plan for building muscle? How long have you been training/diet really sorted/what are you currently doing?

      diets low carb high protein training im doing 30 to 40 min running then i work a muscel each day i got a mate says to try it butt i dont no the exzact results you get . i got told its a hardner and a good cutter buy looking on this web site that seems right i take it butt with a bit of body fat on me would it be good to take and drop body fat as im gaining muscel

          At the moment gym wise I am going like a upper body session, which I do 3 sets of 12 reps on each group 3 times, so like 3 circuits, and 30 mins cardio. Then the day after I do similar with legs and abs, then a day off, then repeat. Im pretty weak at the moment hence the 4 week head start.

          And diet wise, I have a breakfast, might be something like eggs on toast, with fruit and black coffee, mid morning a whey shake, lunch will be a salad of some kind, mid afternoon whey shake, the dinner will be chicken or turkey or steak with salad and potatoes, or con carne maybe.

                Why do you say that?

                My plan is to isolate muscle groups and work harder once I start, Im starting a a 4 week plan as I was told your muscles grow quicker than the connectors in your joint, sorry I dont know the terms. I was kinda hoping for help here rather than being told Im just wrong

                      agree you should be training for years ! fully know your craft before you even think about touching A/S do more research on diet and training as you can tell from this thread you dont even have basic understanding of these things then put what you learn into practice for couple years then come back to this section and do even more research ! 


                      if your not willing to do any of this then you will end up either not reaching your goals or/and damaging your health !!

                        I was told to do a month of all body work to get a bit stronger. Then I am going to follow a plan for 6 weeks, then change my plan every 6 weeks. I just plan to use the anabol as a kick start.

                        The diet I posted was a brief one as I couldnt be bothered to post the whole thing. Its a diet plan that mens health say is a one for bulding muscle.

                        I also got my plan from mens health.

                        Can you elaborate on what I am doing wrong please?

                          The guys here have an unprecedented wealth of knowledge - far more than ur 'mate' who suggested it in the first place, and will be more than willing to give guidance...

                          however, you MUST get some good solid training behind you to begin with (not a few weeks/months), THEN start doing some more research.  When you think you have researched enough, start researching again!  The more information you arm yourself with, the more people will help you.

                          until then, expect to be lambasted.

                          look in the articles section at the top.  look up training and also diet.  Use the training and diet sections of the forum.  Understand what you should be doing, and why.  The information is available, the rest is up to you.

                            Guess I will go back to the drawing board.

                              Some good advice above- read the articles, get your diet in check and post it up in the diet section, and pay attention to your training for a couple of years, and you'll make good gains from that. THEN you can start thinking about 'extras'.

                                we all now your new to this because we all know mens health n such magazines isnt the best place to get your plans from n to do research they make you believe if you follow plan x you will b as big and ripped as guy on front page in 6weeks its jut not possible ! it takes years but if they told you it takes years they wouldnt sell magazine but dont worry your not alone me and im sure loads of other people when they first started out bought into that kinda stuff! 


                                just follow peoples advice get you training and diet sorted by doing research the more the better! get some good gains under your belt then in couple years when you think you really cant make any or much more gains natural then its time for more research into A/S  lol love how people think bodybuilders are dumb meat heads if they only knew the amount of reading we have to do  !

                                  totally agree. in fact, a lot of the fitness models they use on the covers of such magazines actually use gear to get their bodies. they show you pictures of lean, 6 pack sporting blokes and tell you that if you buy their magazine, and follow their advice, you too can look like them.

                                  as adam_newby said, its just not true. we all fall for it at the beggining, and it seems that these types of magazines exist on the backs of people who constantly fall for it, but as soon as they wise up, the next bunch of suckers comes along and takes their place.

                                  dont worry though mate, spend a bit more time in the gym, get used to your body and learn which exercises your body responds best too, learn how to get past sticking points and platues, and while doing this youll build strength and mass in the process. youll also pick up a lot of gym knowledge and learn a bunch of new exercises thatll test you in new ways. then after a while, youll build up your arsenal of training tools and when it comes time to run your cycle, youll be able to run it as best you can and youll be ready to deal with any problems or hiccups that come out along the way.
