Advice for first comp...!?
23 August 2011 21:47
( permalink)
Hi guys Can anyone tell me or advise me where to research what are the requirements re doing a natural show in the uk? My concerns are I have only been clean for approx 2 years.... the BNBF says drug free for 10 years!? I'm only 80kg @5'6" so not the biggest of guys, I know I need to put more size on prior to dieting for a comp but really want to avoid going back down my old route? - I would (maybe wrongly) presume that unless I entered a natural comp I would always end up in categories with guys who are prob not natural ... which I would think would put me straight into last place if u see what i mean? So how how do i pick the right federation to enter giving me the best chances of getting anywhere? Thanks for any advice in advanced guys!

you have to wait another 8 years to compete with the BNBF, or compete agains untested guys in nabba and the ukbff. 80kg at 5'6, if thats comp weight then thats big. if its not, whats your competition weight?

The BNBF has a 10 year clean rule so as Dazc says, you do need to wait for a further 8 years. The NPA is lifetime natural so forget that one. What is it you've used as not all substances are a 10yr ban?

well I think a natural show is out of the question unless you wait 8 years so you could either jump in on a nabba or ukbff even clean or just get back on it. there was one lad in the nabba first timers class who was clean (so he said) and tbh he looked ok and not out of place, all depends how you look and feel.
If you cant run with the big dogs stay on the porch

Cheers for your thoughts guys.... I like the idea of having a go in NABBA or UKBBF as u say... as much as i'd like to do it clean... i've had a skeet at some of the pics etc form over the years and i don't think i'm of decent stock to compete without a lil help! How do i upload a pic? Whats the crack with the clasic UKBFF mate?

As said mate, looks like the natural feds are out for a few years. A lot of naturals do well in the UKBFF classic class but some of the larger guys are too heavy for this. Also check out the smaller independent shows dotted around the country (see The Beef magazine listing or our MT competition calender)
