Hey don't diss the donkey raises ! I love them !! Really gets the whole of the calf and burns like buggery when done right

Yes we do get some funny looks down the gym and we do try to do them in a corner out of the way but to be honest I think it looks even worse then

Desmo may also have done some butt slapping whilst on my back

Nor do I but I think its ridiculous to over complicate an exercise when there is plenty of other calf exercises one could do.

I could lie on a treadmill and do dumbbell presses. Not much point when I can just use a flat bench instead.

ok, seems a lot of butt hurt in this thread due to the exercise location.
These guys found the squat rack the best place for this exercise as it allowed the guy on the back to balance using the squat rack itself to stabilise.

The bottom line is someone wanted to use the squat rack and it was occupied, because it wasn't being used for squats the sky is falling and the heavens are awash around his feet....

I have done donkey calve raises propped up on a ham curl machine with MT member AK_88, any body who wanted to use the ham curl just had to ask "excuse me, is it ok to use that"...not run to the internet

      Just saying...all get a grip.

But without MTs higher power guidance in my life I may do something I live to regret....

Anyways plot thickens today went in for my lunchtime session and wanted to do some dumbell pressing on the benches etc and I shot you not (sorry no pics this time ) there were two guys doing self defense ju jitsu on the mats in front of the dumbell rack. Needless to say after the donkey calf thing I told them to **** off especially seen as the "teacher" was teaching his student wrong. They got the hump complained the management who then told them to **** off also to one of the special exercise rooms for pilates and such.

GRRRR will find a new gym once I move but seen as this one is paid for by the company and the next nearest one is £200 a month got to bite the bullet.

Did he sit round the other way than the pics playing the bongos?  Now that I would have paid to watch and used my video phone to capture.  YBF material?

I usually suck my finger and pretend to shove it up her backside, much to hilarity of the other guys in the gym

Donkey Calf raises are an old fashioned calf building exercise, nowt wrong with it, just a silly place to do it.

Anyone lifting in the 80s would be familiar with it I think.
