Any problems ordering through Bodybuilding.com?
18 January 2010 06:57
( permalink)
Hey guys, I just joined the forum today and am very excited about it. I just started training last year. I checked out the bodybuilding.com store and saw some stuff I want to buy. I even found some bodybuilding.com coupons online at http://www.coupongravy....odybuilding-com-coupons/ that I can use to save some money on my order. My question is this, do you guys ever have problems ordering through them? I don't want my protein powder to be stuck at customs or anything. Thanks!

If ordering protein based products and customs check your order they will get held and destroyed. You cannot import diary products without the correct paper work.

Yeah thats what daari said, no point ordering protein and you can sometimes get away with charges, so i might take a gamble and get some stuff off nutraplanet. Its worth the risk delviery may be longer but you get it cheaper and even if you do get caught with charges it will be the same as the uk price anyway, maybe still less, maybe abit more, so worth the risk imo.

Just to warn and back up what Graduate said , importation of Milk proteins without a liscence is not permitted into the EU and customs are red hot on this so its a big risk , and if they catch you they dont just apply charges they conviscate the product ( and usually destroy it ) and you will lose your money Wurz

No problem mate, i dont know about now, but supps were basically half the price of the same supp over here, but then again the pound is weaker too, IIRC was £1 = $2 now its like $1.6, i guess you just gotta add up supp costs, shipping cost, and add on abit if you get caught by charges and see if its worth it or not.

The reason they're sometimes cheaper is because it's tax evasion lol.... The main reason supplements are more expensive in the UK is because retailers must pay all taxes due on them. This can be very high (e.g. up to 62% on some goods from memory - Whey is around 40% from memory). If we tried to avoid paying the tax, those people responsible would be stamped on by HM Revenue, and could be prosecuted for criminal offences. It's sad because it means UK customers will often shop about in the US - and this loses UK industry jobs & revenue. However, high tax is the price we pay for a "free" healthcare system and all the other things you get in the UK today.

I live in Aus and have ordered stuff from bb.com and it like always gets stopped - customs seem to target bb.com more-so than any other supplement company. I have been getting my stuff from Predater Nutrition and everything gets in fine and is quick as shipping.
