      as for the new pension scheme, i am not on it, but it is not that bad, only difference being that you dont get quite as much monthly, but you do get another large lump sum when you reach 60 (thats the catch, you got to live till then!!)


      Apart from the fact that you get much less of a pension unless you stay in until the end (age 55) - effectively negating the escape route at 22 years. 
       
      Also, if you do 22 you still get a much reduced pension until 60, assuming you live that long.
       
      Make no mistake the military are saving an avsolute fortune with the new pension scheme.  We 'oldies' are the lucky ones.

        As i type this response im living at HMS Collingwood about 200-300 yards from howe building.
        i do my engineering stuff at HMS Sultan also.

        is emma's the same one im thing of in gosport?

          Yes mate it is used to be packed to the rafters on a Wednesday,I also worked in Sultan but only for about 2months in 1999

              No change there then,when Haslar was open and as its just up the road,used to £3 in really rammed in,now blockhouse is Army i guess they all pile in,Still id rather be in there with 300 sex starved nurses than 300 drunk pongos

                never been to haslar.

                most regular one is chicago's a real grab a granny type venue.

                to be honest i think HMS collingwood and surrounding area is a nice part of the world for its sins!

                  Haslar was the forces Hospital shut down now sadly ,one of the best drafts ever,mixed accom with 50 or more female nurse per man,essence
