Anyone here use Betaine HCL

Long story short,my doc has been treating me for heartburn for years with omeprazol,but reading up on it i think actualy i may have low acid,and the treatments are just compounding my problems. All my symptoms point to low acid,and i have a very hard time digesting protein. Now my doc is very closed to any ideas that i have,its just keep taking the pills,if its not helping,we will up the dose,ect. Sooooo,anyone use this stuff,tried EVERYTHING else.I didn't even think that it could be low acid giving me problems.

Ok,just ordered some Natures best Betaine hcl,i will soon know if i have a low acid problem,and not acid reflux from high acid. If it works out,i will be able to digest and absorb protien properly,which should make a big differance in my training. and get off the prescription meds,for good.

I use it when bulking heavily to help with the digestion of all the protein. Sometimes 400G ED.

When bulking I always go over top to ensure my protein bases are covered mate. Would rather have the extra there for growth. At the moment I'm working on project Ibiza (Hols in June) So tweeked things back to around 200G ED.. looking much better for it and feeling alot better too.

Big D Mick - 400g? Why that amount? OP - i'm in a similar position to yourself, seeing a specialist today. let me know how you get on,i take it they will be testing your Ph levels in your stomach.

mick_the_brick I use it when bulking heavily to help with the digestion of all the protein. Sometimes 400G ED. I see how it would help,i have trouble with 1/1.5 grams per lb even.and its not a fibre issue,i make sure i get enough.it gets worse if i add in whey,so i don't use it anymore..so i'm hoping it will do the trick.
