The only question I really have is will I be at a disadvantage because I'm 6ft 1?

Only disadvantage is lack of muscle not extra height . I think the lad who won the Scottish this weekend couldn't have been far away from that or it might have been the rest were so short he looked tall LOL!!

Lol BNBF.. what a joke of an organisation

Might I believe that is because you didn't win your class after I heard you were bulled up my your mates for the win?? I did not judge that show but I hear you were out of condition. It's not always the biggest guy that wins mate but the one who presents the better package. Rather than spout off on the net, the best thing is to get yourself in better shape and show them what you're really made of and not the sad loser that you are coming across as!!! I'm sure Dorian wouldn't be proud of a lack of professionalism from his crew!

I'm actually thoroughly embarassed from being shouted at while on stage as a teen for the first time in my life for holding onto my pants? while this was alowed for all other competitors?
I think everyone understands the psychological mind set you go through as a teen and to step on stage for the first time. But to then let a gentleman shout at me twice?

And the coldest of welcome to my coach when he tried to say hello to some particular organisers which again made my first and last experience to the bnbf an unpleasant one.

I am not upset I did not win my category as the winner was fantastic! And he knows I think this, It was just hard for my to grasp the over all placing of the category. I understand my opinion is not wanted. However from the bottom of my heart I do beleive I showed a potential to be competitive at the final.

I  also understand my condition was not a great deal close to 100%.

Hey Zach, can't comment on what happened to you there. Were you pulling your trunks up to show your glutes?

You also can't judge a whole fed on the behaviour of one person, not sure who that was but yes, there's no need to be unwelcoming, we aren't all like that you know

I have sent you a PM. I hope that helps you progress for your next stage. Good luck and I really do hope you will consider competing with the BNBF again as I too believe you have potential for the finals but we'll never know unless you show it

It was for front lat spread and back lat spread so I was not creating a thong type outline which I understand that cut is banned.

I dont want to embarass myself further but it has been on my mind since I stepped of that stage. That one person was a very respectable lady in my eyes and I did look up to her for what she has achieved yet after some controversy years ago to hold that same issue towards my coach was very un-promising towards my mind set on the day. I'm not against anyone in the BNBF I'm just embarassed and devastated as I said because of some small events on the day. I would have thought the judges would have looked for the most potential and promising athletes on the day to make that glasgow final as high standard as every year.

Hi Zack, we have spoken via email many times and i was actually at the show mate.
While i can understand the stress involved on and off the stage and your disapointment, i agree with your placing.

You have a lot of size but you were a good number of weeks behind in your conditioning. It might sound harsh but it is the truth mate and as much as you are a great guy to chat to, there is no way of taking the sting out of my comments which are mean at constructive.

The top 3 were in better condition than you and IMO, also where Dorian might well agree if you ask him, size is nothing without conditioning.

You have a lot of potential but this is not judged as it is something noted for the future to fulfill, not be merited with right now.

You would of warranted a place in the final if you turned up in better condition to show off the size you obviously do have.

My friend/work colleague  won the heavyweights and overall, last year he won on size alone.... this year i have been chewing his ear off for 12 months solid about his conditioning.
It took a while for him to switch off from thinking size alone would get him to the finals, so he did the cardio and he ate cleaner....i helped him a bit with his final week as well.
He not only qualified but is now on of the early favorites to win at the finals in the heavyweight cat.

You need to work out what you did for your prep and go back to the drawing board. There are other qualifiers so you still have time?
Come in tighter and better conditioned and warrant that higher placing mate, something i'm sure you can achieve.

                          Please take this as constructive

Zach I am sorry that you didn't enjoy your experience at the Southern. I know it is always hard when placed last and emotions run high on competition day. I was made aware that after your placing you had stormed out knocking over a chair and then leaving the venue in your trunks, however I understand that everything seems so much worse on the day of the show. Nevertheless, normally when the athlete looks back on the day they can see that their reaction was a bit extreme. However I now log on to the forum to see you have called the BNBF a joke which I think is totally uncalled for. Your schoolboy strop was the biggest joke and had a lot of people laughing.

Your comment about you getting shouted at for pulling your trunks up by a gentleman is strange to say the least. I was head judge so if anyone was to comment on your trunks it would be me and I dont recall making any comment on your trunk placement.

I havent a clue who your coach is so dont know if he was ignored. I know I am certainly not aware of ingnoring anyone. We were very tight for staff so were all running around daft to get things running smoothly so may have unknowingly missed speaking to someone, but I can assure you not intentionally. However, who your coach is or was would have no baring on your result on stage. You were not in condition and judges cannot judge on what you might look like if you were in shape only on how you actually show up on the day. You were pushing 3rd at best and the 3rd place did not get an invite, so why would you?

You are a teenager so it is hard to say grow up as you are still a kid, but don't blame anyone bar yourself for your place. If you had been in shape you would have placed better regardless of your trunks, your coach or any other excuse you might find.

There are two ways to deal with a defeat: 1 blame everyone else or 2, look at your faults and improve the next time. Champions take the 2nd option.
