^^^^^Bloody hell Cardiff thats brilliant , what sort of impact has it made on your training / physique ? T1B - I'm hoping to press bodyweight this year but while i'm cutting I just want to work on my form , the arse really tends to fall out of my strength when I loose weight. I also need to improve my clean strength as i struggle to clean my best pressing weights and I'm told this should not be a problem.Looking at my proposed split which workout would you suggest doing cleans ? I've been front shift this week so although I've been sober, tonight is the first night that I've gone to bed with the posibility of 8+ hrs of good quality sleep in , in ...well I honestly dont remember !

Cheers Pete I hate Sundays ! I'm bored out of my f*cking scull and I'm really fancying a drink , I'm not going to mind you but I definately want one, this is the first craving I've had , I new Sundays would be bad , along with backshifts. Diet starts tomorrow and I'm genuinely looking forward to it, I've felt better for being sober this week despite eating sh*te so eating well should give me an even better sense of wellbeing. I really want to concentrate on getting veg and healthy fats into my diet as I've always failed at this in the past even when I've managed to lose weight. I must add that our lass has just passed me a cream cake and a cup of tea and I didn't even bat an eye lid until I was half way through no wonder I called myself 'The King Of Procrastination' in a previous journal Right I'm off to not drink ! wish me luck

7 nights sober ! Rights some stats as of this morning Weight - 14 stone 1 pound Waist - 39" I have obviously lost some lean weight recently as I'm as fat as I've ever been yet not as heavy.Waist measurement is taken around the fattest part of my midsection ie. over the navel. I started taking some other measurements but aborted as I decided I'm better off not knowing as I tend to get demotivated with cutting when I see measurements coming down. I know what my dimensions have been previously so I have a point of reference for any furture measurements. It's no suprise I've lost some muscle as I've hardly trained in the last 6 weeks, I know that when I've returned to training after a semi lay off before I've actually managed to lose weight and gain muscle for the first few weeks so I'm hoping I can do this again, however I intend to focus on the goal of fat loss Been to the shop this morning and stocked up on good food so I have no excuse. Right I'm off to stuff my pitta's !

Good luck with all your training mate! You seem in very good shape already as it is. I agree with other members the key is to get injury free and if you can avoid alcohol it will do you good as well. A few years back i got bored with drinking. I drank because "I was made to" (as in everybody was drinking and I didnt wanted to be the boring one). I didnt even enjoyed most of the drinks anyway. Now I dont give a damn if people perceive me as boring just because I drink water or soft drinks on a night out. I only drink when I feel like it. Good luck!!!

Know what you mean about the bloating Cardiff , I look pregnant after a few solid days of drinking Pauloduarte - cheers for the input mate. Dont take much notice of my avi pic , it's a couple of years old now and I'm not in the same shape , not that I think that pic is anything special, I'm definately hoping to post a new one this summer thats better Nights last night , went to bed at 6am this morning and was at the gym by 1pm for a back and quads workout. For those familiar with my journals , you should have noticed a new word there that i just slipped in .....QUADS !!! thats right I decided to try and train around my knee problem for the first time in about ten years . Bent rows -70k 4x6 - could feel my elbows but not too bad Leg raises -2 slabs on the stack 3x20 - these didn't bother my knees but obviously not the best mass builder Leg press - 2plates each side - 2x12 reps - felt these in my knees but not too bad Back workouts are limited to bent rows at the mo but thats maybe not a bad thing as I used to avoid these and now I realise what a good exercise they are. Quads is gonna be a voyage of discovery in terms of what I can get away with and what will actually yield some kind of results.Any input on training round crappy knees would be greatly appreciated

^^Cheers Pete Military press 50kx6, 60kx4, 70kx2 , 50kx10 , 50kx6 Standing alternate DB curls 12.5k x 15 , 10kx10 Short & ****e not thrilled with the pressing weights , especially when I'm probably gonna get weaker rather than stronger due to cutting but then as I said before I'll worry about strength later. WTF those DB curls were all about I dont know , basically I could feel my elbows big style on these and really I should have just left it but I tried going light and strict, I must say that I did really feel it in my bi's and assuming I ever get my elbows sorted I might keep things light and strict on bi's to see how I go , as for now I really think i might have to avoid bi's. Diet has all gone to plan apart from a sausage & egg bun I had today , I was on a training course and I didn't want to be the only one not going to the canteen 'because I was cutting' , I know that makes me a weak minded fool but I'm ok with that I Must point out that 'to plan' for me does not mean 6 meals of rice and chicken , I know I'll need to get progressively stricter but for now I'm happy with just cutting out the obvious junk. Oh yeah .......tonights 12 nights * * apologies for excessive use of smileys but I have to have some vices

Hi mate, good to see you're starting to dry up on the booze front...my brother has a similar problem, in that he can't have '1 drink', he has to keep going until he's drank everything in the house! He refuses to go to AA meetings, but aknowledges he has a problem, which IMO is the first part in winning the battle. You're 1/2 way there mate, glad to see you're still chipping away Take care fella

Cheers again lads Knighty - I think your right about admitting you have a problem being the first step , my sister has a problem too but she refuses to see it. Right well this not drinking lark has been easier than I expected , I havn't had any bad cravings except last Sunday, maybe it's just the novelty factor but either way it's all good. The difference in my physique is very pleasing, I've gone from what I consider a disgrace to what I consider acceptable in two weeks, I know thats quite vauge but I'm using the mirror rather than weights and measurements at the mo. I definately intend to post pics although I wish I had taken one on Jan 1st for comparison. I realised that I've definately lost confidence today. I was drving along in my car when I looked in my rearview to find a BMW X3 or X5 not sure which , right up my arse , I didn't remember cutting anyone up or anything else so i couldn't think of any reason for this other than that he was some tit wanting to race. I did what I normally do and slowed down and tried to see who was driving , I couldn't make out what the driver looked like and at this point he got so close that he nearly went into me. Normally I would have started indicating in at this point to see if the pr*ck meant business however today for some reason my arse collapsed and I just put my footdown and drove like a idiot to keep in front of him.I must just say that anyone fancying a Golf 2.8V6 4motion , dont bother their a sheep in wolf's clothing (although not as bad as the GTI's) ! I couldn't get away from the twat.Anyway he turned off eventually and I kept going with my heart beating like a drum. Anyway the point of the story is that I would normally have pulled in to see what he did , but today I just bricked it for no apparent reason I know pulling over is a bit daft and that their's always someone harder or better armed & or it could end in tradgedy for either of us but the point is I have lost my confidence and it doesn't feel nice. I noticed this over the last few years but today really brought it home for me. I was always quite a nervous person when I was younger but weights and MMA's changed me quite a bit , it's seems now that I'm reverting to my former 'scared of my shadow' self. I know some people may not think this is a bad thing but I dont like the feeling. Whats the answer ? well I guess I need to either grow up and change some of my values or I need to get my arse in gear and regain my confidence in defending myself / beating up random people who drive too close to me ^ Well that was odd , especially since I'm sober , maybe it's because I'm a Gemini

Well according to the scales I've managed to lose the sum total of 1 pound this week ! now I dont know what other people might make of this but I think I've gained lean weight / glycogen as I look fuller and denser if that makes sense.I know I've been eating in manner that would only allow me to lose a small amount at best but that was the idea as I thought I might be able to pull off a reduction in fat along with some muscle gain due to my complete lack of decent training over December.I'll see what the mirror and scales tell me at the end of this week before I make a knee jerk reaction and cut cals , as I've said I want this to be steady and sustainable weight loss. Today Incline bench - 60k x6, 70k x6, 80k x6, 90k x5, 100k x2 Incline flyes - 27.5k x10 , x8 Dips - BW x12 , x12, x9 Close grip ez bar presses - 50k x10 x8 x6 Off to the physio's shortly to see what she can make of my elbow and knee prob's , not expecting miracles but it cant hurt , well except my wallet , it's £43 for the first session then £33 there-after.
