RE: PAGAN MMVII - 27 February 2007 21:29
Thursday - trouble at t mill , I walked out of work half way through a shift (yes this is the beginning of my excuse for having drank). Stress at home from money issues combined with an ongoing dispute at work revolving around me wanting everyone dead and them resenting this came to a head and I had a descision to make , A- kill them all ?B- walk out ,go home and get drunk, leaving myself the option of killing them all later ? Regretfully I chose option B. Drinking did get me to sleep but predictably I woke up early feeling like sh*t and resumed 'stressing ' about work and money.

Friday - dont really remember why I drank but I did, probably because I had drank the night before.

Saturday - Went round brother in laws so convinced myself that this fell into my 'it's ok if it a social occasion' umbrella excuse.

Sunday - If there's one time that I enjoy a drink and dont even regret it the next day it's a Sunday night when I've been on it for a few days. I had a few cans , laughed at Jeremy Clarkson and co, managed to get to sleep despite facing my first day back at work , got up at 5am still pleasantly pissed (sorry yes I do drive to work, all be it two miles down a country road ) and vowed I would do better this week !

So ...pick the bones out of that load of bollox , I'm still trying to come to terms with what the hell I want.I drank , I enjoyed bits and resented bits.On balance it comes down to the fact that I like drinking but dont like the after effects.Hardly unique I know but true non the less. I dont beat my wife or kids , I dont wee in the wardrobe , I just giggle a bit and playfight with my kids or the dog but I do sleep badly , wake up regretting it and get depressed because I know I'll never reach my physical goals if I dont cut back dramatically. Blah , blah , blah , blah ...........hmmmmmm

Positive spin - I've still only drank 6 times this year

As I lik eto say in these situations.. fukc it.
Its not that bad, 4 days on the trot is nothing compared to the rest of the population, I do 3 a week minimum. Dont worry about it and rejoice in the fact that Plug1 thinks your normal.

I can totally empathise with you mate.....was smashed on Saturday and Sunday last weekend....no reason at all....I used the social drink excuse aswell. Best thing to do (as I have done) is get straight back on your diet and train harder than ever.

I have now lost, since stopping drinking everyday, a total of two stone. I just look in the mirror and that spurs me on.

Get straight back on the straight and narrow fella and stop feeling sorry for yourself

Yeah I think the general idea is pick myself up and get back on the wagon too ! I do seem to have genuinely accepted the longterm benefits of being sober outweigh the fun of the first few cans, hopefully when I slip up it will only be isolated incidents and over time I will regain the balance that most people have.

Anyway drinking aside I'm currently exploring career changes. I'm focusing on offshore work as frankly it's the only option can see paying enough to justify me leaving my current job. The concept of working away from home doesn't bother me if the pay will allow me to enjoy the time I spend at home.

Aye...saw the post in General. Good luck to you mate. A change in direction and something new to concentrate on will help the non drinking aswell

This coming Sunday I want you to sign on here and type the two words "did it". Time to stop the rot and turn it around. I make you this promise - no matter what happens this weekend I am NOT having a drink. I want you to do it to. No excuses. You have your mission. Good Luck.

Twats !!!! I have to admit I was debating having a drink on Sunday seeing as I enjoyed it so much last weekend. I was going to make it a planned treat for not drinking Friday and Saturday but .......I suppose that would still be letting the rot set back in.Right I'll see what I can do

Bent rows - 50kx6, 60kx6, 70kx6, 80kx6, 80kx6, 70kx6 , 70kx6, 50kx12

Military press -40kx10, 50kx6, 60kx6, 60kx6, 50kx6, 50kx6, 30kx14

DB Shrugs - 20kx10, 30kx10, 40kx10, 30k10, 20kx10

I seem to be doing a kinda uppy / downy sort of pyramiddy sort of rep scheme , there is no particular theory behind this it just felt right

Had a good week for me diet wise and I'm hoping to keep it up this weekend , which I have to admit fits in nicely with the challenge you guys have laid down

FORGOT ! I never forget. Well sometimes. Just wasn't going to come looking for an answer, as when I saw posts in other threads and nothing in this, well, even I could work that one out.

Bollox, bollox, bollox, you drank because you wanted to. I didn't want to so I didn't. But we both did what we wanted to.

So one question.

Have you stopped wanting to give up ?

Cos if you have I can stop coming in here every friday and Sunday with little encouraging messages of support. If you haven't I'll carry on. Personally I think you've given up giving up. I don't mind one way or the other. But I suspect those close to you might.

Fat Pete is signing out now, but I wish you well and hope you enjoy success in all your endeavours, if you fancy trying again, pop a note in my training log or PM me. Good Luck.
