When times are tough mate, eggs are your best option. Hell, I survived on eggs and white rice throughout January!

It appears this will be the case mate. I had to borrow money off some ****ing loan company online just so I don't lose my way with this. #dedication. Anyway in good news, I, despite my injuries, problems and worries finally reached the 100kg mark with deadlifts, and zero problems with my back after 10 minutes of warming up/stretching before hand. This makes me very happy. Fatigued somewhat in the end though so the rest of my lifts struggled, especially the close grip bench, lat pull down etc. Left the cardio as I will be rugby training tonight!

Back squatting a 100 today, so happy! So that's my deadlift and squat back to a hundred now, just slowly but surely need to work on my bench but a long way yet as only managing around 6 reps of 80 - muscle fatigue on my chest is awful! Anyway, diet has been top draw all week - even managed to cut down on condiments but I'm a sucker for Maggis bake in the bags for my chicken! Makes a huge huge huge difference but it's just darn salty! Didn't manage to get much sleep last night, was up at 5.45 in work for 7, went to train at about 4.45-5pm and spent almost 2 and a half hours in the gym! Oh my word. Squat 1st set: 10 x 80kg 2nd set: 6 x 100kg 3rd set: 5 x 100kg 4th set: 5 x 100kg Straight leg DL 1st Set: 8 x 60kg 2nd Set: 8 x 70kg 3rd Set: 5 x 70kg (lost grip!) 4th Set: 4 x 70kg ( in a bit grip!! ) Leg Press 1st, 2nd & 3rd Set: 290lb x 8 Leg Extension 1st, 2nd & third Set: 150lb x 8 Lunges 1st, 2nd and 3rd Set: 47.5kg x 8 (4 per leg) James 3 minute calf workout. Set out to do an hours cardio as it has been slacking slightly this week but my god I felt so ILL afterwards, I went as white as a sheet and decided I needed sugar and my usual 30g of raisins PWO didn't help one bit so had to have some 70% dark chocolate out of the vending machine just to get some colour back in my face. Finished off with 20-30 minutes stretching my lower body and then some foam rolling. Decided I didn't want my microwaved salmon this time round so went to tesco and bought 350g of rump steak - pan fried that and whalloped it in about 5 seconds with a sweet potato and green beans. I feel so much better now.

Thanks mate! Fell off the waggon since Friday, I blame work! Constant hours, little time to cook prepare or even eat my food let alone training. 3 days off now so will get right back on it. I am seeing good gains, both in size and weight loss although these little 3 day spurts of eating sh** really isn't helping. I will keep at it though. Must.Keep.At.It.

Nothing like steak to 'power charge'. When i'm flagging and feeling flat I always have a big juicy steak to rejuvenate me. Don't worry about the occasional few days going off the rail, we're halfway through, not long to go now.

You're perfectly right lads it certainly did lift me, ha. Just finished playing Rugby League, we beat Durham university 56-6, proudest day of my life. Scored 3 and set another 2 up, did things in that game I wasn't sure was possible and I put it down to my training, nothing more. Ended up with the man of the match award so I'll be having a few bottles of beers tonight to celebrate. The hardest thing with this SUC has been trying to balance my social life with work and training, I've decided on my days off not to be a recluse and start enjoying myself. It's clear I'm making gains, both physically and mentally so I will carry on as I am, and hopefully at the end of this 6 weeks I will be a very happy man with significant gains. And even if I'm not, I've got another 2 months until Ibiza...LOL.

Appreciate you taking the time to read/comment titch- you're right, full of ups and downs very much like my life at the minute ha. Woke up early this morning for work and decided to take my progress pictures. I suppose if you look closely, there are some gains to be had ha.

Absolutely gutted. Didn't mention in that Rugby game that I had to come off with 10 minutes to spare because someone had stamped on me and had got my ankle caught underneath them in the process, at the time the pain was unbearable but after my mate slowly took my shoe and sock off it just revealed a few scratches and and instant bruise, so didn't think anything of it. Woke up this morning in severe pain, but had to go to work so spent the last 10 hours stood up. The result? 4 hours in A&E, a couple of x-ray scans, no conclusions other than "we think it could be sprained, and infected." Awesome. This certainly won't stop me lifting weights (upper body anyway) but my cardio will have to stop until it's cleared. Just as I was seeing noticable weight loss tooo.

Noticeable progress. Shame about the injury but I would tighten up the diet and just do weights with what little CV you can do. I appreciate how you feel - I've ruined my Achilles with running so I'm having to be super-strict with my diet.

Why are you so upset with the pics to me i see some good gains and fat loss good your quads look bigger and more cut slimmer round lower back just a bit more to come off from the midsection but still a good six weeks to go. Has your gym got a cycling machine that you use with your hands not sure what they are called. Can you put any pressure on your foot can you not cycle lightly.

This Defo see changes coming through, ankle can be worked around, not ideal, but something to test you
