Cheers mate.

Quick update.
Stiff as anything right now. Feels like my hamstrings are going to fall off.

In some bizarre pique of independence, I have cleared my garden, ready to grow my own potatoes, beans, peas and any other stuff that can handle British weather.

Add to that I've started making green smoothies from kale, bananas and some frozen berries (ok, they're brown rather than green), whey protein flapjacks (oats, whey protein, olive oil and a smidge of butter - sounds horrid eh), and whey protein pancakes (eggs, whey, oats - dry fried).

Tomorrow, I'll be making mozzarella cheese from scratch, then using the left-over drained whey to make ricotta/cottage cheese.

I might have a crack at making granary bread with lots of added seeds, too, if I have the time.

Why? No reason really, other than prices in supermarkets are getting silly, really.

Will weigh-in and report back on body recomposition progress at the end of the week.

Forgot to mention - about to make a rocket stove, too (look it up on Youtube) from a metal cinder bin, baked bean cans and cat litter.

These things get to a very high temperature and cost next to nothing to build or run (a few fallen tree branches hacked into pieces is enough to make the efforts of a bbq look pretty tame).

Will bring it with me when I go camping as soon as the rain/frost stops.

Also tempted to make a sand/gravel pressurised water filter system and take that too.

Brucie - give me a shout if you're up for it.

        Latest smoothie:

Eight large leaves from "British fresh greens", two handfuls of chopped kale, two apples, 1/5th litre of red grape juice.

Wash, chuck in a blender, shake about for about 2 minutes, pour out a protein shaker-full of sweetish smoothie.

Gets you about seven servings of your "five a day" fruit and veg and reduces to liquid - no lumps or bits.

Even better, only costs about 35p.

It's going well. I'm stiff, weak, and prone to feeling sick halfway through a set of front squats.
All lifts are appalling. Bench is a joke. The shakes during reps are comical. The amount I sweat is ridiculous.
But, aside from that, progress is starting to show.

Quick update - no training this week.
I've been working/studying from 6am-1am, so no chance really.
Food is clean though, and I'll hopefully hit the gym this weekend. Twice. Hard.

Growing your own veg is a great idea, it's very satisfying to pick your own. You also know exactly how it has been grown, i.e. no pesticides etc.

                      Hi mate,
Not seen you post for a while (although I'm rarely on here, anyway).
                      You ask a good question.
The answer is basically - I'm getting back into training to alleviate some isolation. I generally work, study and sleep, which is ok, but it's getting a little tiring after three straight years of it.
Nothing too heavy - I'd be reasonably happy at 15 stone, 12% bodyfat in the long run. I think that's pretty achievable.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thinking about doing a Classics show in shredded condition this year though. I'd need to come on stage about 2 stone lighter than my avi to make the weight.

Just had a look at the rules. I'd need to be 30lb lighter compared with when I competed before to make the cut-off in the classics for my height.

                          13 stone 12lb this morning -  a gain of 8lb so far.
Not sure on the tissue-to-fat ratio.

                              Not yet mate.
The projects are getting backed-up by the snow and rain.
I now have: finish garden, build rocket stove, fit new kitchen worktops, paint a ceiling in the queue.

                              Weekly update:

Up another 5lb. Glycogen going in and staying in. Each gym visit = return of permanent pump.

Still stiff as anything and lifts are still a joke. But appetite is growing and waistline isn't.

Next week will be tough - lots of maths study on.
