Did we have this already? ASDA Chunky Chicken Breast, 240g 1.34£ 24.9 % protein, 1.0 % fat, 0.3% sodium Haven't been able to find chicken any cheaper and it is cooked already. It's nice cold and warm. In the evening I sometimes fry it with 6 eggs (1-2 yolks)

Hey TomD, You are correct; however, if you are as lazy as I am and if you have little time, this is very convenient. Haven't been a able to find cheaper (real) cooked chicken so far. Worth a try :-)

Worth a try :-) ah so that is a better deal that i thort. if feeling very lazy i aways go with sainburys teka chicken as its very easy to make a sandwidge with a little light mayo :) i keep looking and hoping im going to find a place that seels chicken drests at £2/kilo but i have never yet found it, its like a pot of gold at the end of a rainbo. you will never get it :( think the best place is at a little under £4/kilo the market near me as the quality of the chicken is very good and worth paying the extra little bit over the frozen stuff. a quick question, how easily is it for the body to uptake protein from things like lentils as they seem very good if the body can use the protein.

I'd like to see somehwere local to me where I can get consistently get fresh chicken breasts for £5.58/kg, I've never seen it that cheap in a supermarket (without it being frozen and/or added with water) and being a market town the local butcher is not cheap. Here's my bargain though, Co-op have WHOLE chickens for £1.47/kg until Dec 8 - I cook two at a time and then freeze them in half-chicken portions.

Try your local farm shop type place - i picked up a tray of extra large farm fresh eggs the other day for £3 - 30 in a tray. The regular large eggs were £2.25. Also got some really good vine cherry tomatoes 39p and a savoy cabbage for £39p. Must go there more often for things as on top of the bargain fresh stuff they also have loads of near end of date things that are pretty good - you just have to be careful not to assume everything there is cheap
Awesome pic, but Tony you're not doing yourself many favours posting up tips on preventing the gag reflex and then a picture of a guy touching his toes - Ak

If you've got a Home Bargains store near you (they might only be north west), they've got a banana milkshake type thing for 19p (was 99p) containing 342 cals - 12.4g protein, 52.4g carbs and 9g fat. Maybe a tad fatty but great for bulking at the price - I've just bought 20 of them!! Also Sainsburys apparently have half price chicken breasts at the mo
