Bolognese Sauce Recipe??? 31 August 2011 01:42 (permalink)
I'm looking for bolognese sauce recipe, but all recipes I can find have mince mixed in with the ingredients to make the bolognese. But I have a problem that if I see a chunk of Onoin, Tomato etc in the sauce I can't eat it so I need a sauce I can make up then blend to mix in with mince afterwards. I'm cutting at moment so a healthy sauce is required.

Any help appreciated

Sweat off onion, celery and carrots. Add tin toms, basil or oregano and blitz. Basic tom sauce...

Use passata instead of tinned tomatoes if you hate the lumps.

I fry the mince in a teaspoon of chilli powder a tea spoon of paprika and season with salt and pepper.

I add a tablespoon of worcester sauce and a tablesoop of tomatoe puree, sometimes more.

Pour in passata and some Basil and leave to simmer for 20 minutes

1/3 jar has 9g sugar so I don't think that would be a great idea

Chopped tomatoes has 4g of sugar/carbs per 100g
          Passata has 4.5g of sugar/carbs per 100g

          They're the same mate

tomatoes are negligible IMO if you consider a tin of chopped onions makes me 6 portions of bolognaise sauce. I still use them whilst cutting.

several bay leaves, oregano, and freshly cracked black pepper are essential.  As is time.

My wife can't eat onions - so I make mine without - but I do include lots of garlic.
