Hellooo Fi! Thanks for dropping in x Exercise was a write off today but have managed to keep within calories! I think if I accept that I wont be doing any workouts on a Friday and Sunday which are my drive from and to work days, then I wont be putting pressure on myself. Ive just realised that the food I prepared for lunches this week is sat in my freezer at home which is helpful. Grrrrrrr! Oh well bit of a quick rethink and some meal prep tomorrow night! I will be teaching a spinning class tomorrow afternoon so thats tomorrow sorted!

Ooh I wish I would stick to my plans. No spinning but I did have a run on the treadmill. Think I may have overdone it a wee bit as I ended up retching in the changing rooms! I didnt actually vom but I wasnt far off! Not done that since basic training! Well as I type Ive got a gammon joint in the oven and home made veggie soup on the hob which will make my lunch/dinner for the rest of the week to replace what I left at home (worra div)! For dinner tonight im having a bit of a treat but still within calories. Im having 2 venison burgers. Just not sure what to have with them. Might opt for a couple of new pots.

Venison is a fantastic source of protein so not really cheating! I often have my burgers with just veg/salad rather than in a bun.

Well my home made ham and veg soup was delicious and works out around 170 calories a portion so I can afford to have a small bread roll with it. This was consumed after 40 mins of cardio at lunchtime where I did a mixture of incline treadmill walking, incline running and flat sprints. According to my HR monitor I burned around 300 cals. Its was nice to have finished work and know that I have got a free evening. Ive been a bit lazy for tea and just had a chicken tikka ready meal and a tesco light choices jacket potato. (450cals total). I dont intend on using ready meals too much as I prefer to know exactly what I'm eating and those things have a huge list of ingredients and additives Ive never heard of. All in all quite a successful day and things seem to be getting easier :)

Had an off day yesterday. No gym and was absolutely ravenous in the evening. And as well as finishing off the other half of the ready meals from the night before i had 2 cookies and a ham roll. By way of damage limitation Ive just been for a run and again according to my HRM Ive burned 700 cals. Im very aware that the majority of my workouts are very cardio based at the moment but Im kind of enjoying it as its quick and doesnt require much thought or planning. As extra motivation i have just downloaded the book "run fat bitch run". Which is supposed to be a no nonsense motivational book based on that internal dialogue we have with ourselves. Seems to be quite appropriate for me as I can always find an excuse not to go to the gym but can find the time to sit on my butt and watch 3 hrs of tv each night. Found out this week that Im off to the Falklands at the end of February for 3 weeks which is right in the middle of the shape up and rumour has it people come back from there either fit as a butchers dog or raging alcoholics (ok a bit of an exaggeration) as the only things to do are go to the gym or drink!! Fingers crossed it will be the former for me!

Hi hoppy. Yeah im not too worried about becoming a raging alcoholic in the falklands although I am concerned about my food intake. All meals will be taken in the Mess and I cant monitor what they put in recipies. Im sure if I am just sensible and stick to clean choices I should be fine. Its only 3 weeks And if I fall off the wagon a couple of times it still leaves plenty of time to rectify it when I get back before the end of the SUC.

And yes the book is written by a woman. I don't think a man could get away with releasing a book with that title without people being up in arms. Which is wrong really! The author is called Ruth Field and shes not a physical trainer or anything. She's just a woman who knows how easy it is to sit around wishing she could lose weight & get fit without putting the effort in. I think sometimes we all need a bit of tough love. Whether that be from ourselves or others!

Well bit of an off weekend. Had to travel back home to Manchester for a funeral. It was an old school friend who has been morbidly obese for most of her life. Quite scary really as she was 34 years old and died very suddenly from what I think was a clot on her lung. I tried to stick to my routine as best as I could but some things managed to slip through the net. But managed to resist my favorite chinese takeaway and did not drink any alcohol. I also managed to get a run in. I decided to do the 3 hr drive back to work really late last night so no gym today as was catching up on sleep, laundry etc and also food shopping for next few days. Veg and ham soup for lunch is sorted and think I will start clearing the freezer for dinners this week. Think a 5k run will be on the cards for tomorrow lunch time.
