ON my days off on workouts, you think it would be beneficial to do some hammer curls? or toss in some push ups?

In a word, no.  Remember that recovery is just as important as how you train & how you eat; if you don't allow your muscles sufficient time to recover your progress will be impeded.

no, your body needs to rest to grow, overworking the muscles will not help. Plus if your working the muscles hard enough, you should really feel your muscles working and not need to do more work on you OFF days
