Hi All,

I have just moved into a small village near cambridge and am trying to find a BJJ/MMA gym near me, does anybody know of one and can give me the address.

Our economy is based on spending billions to persuade people that happiness is buying things, and then insisting that the only way to have a viable economy is to make things for people to buy so they’ll have jobs and get enough money to buy things

Welcome to MT Slideyfoot.

Your BJJ musings are most illuminating. Essential reading for a BJJ player.

How is the sexual health poetry coming along?

Thanks very much, that's most kind of you.

Heh - you just read the thread on Cagewarriors? It's going pretty good: I have a meeting with my PhD supervisor next Monday to go through one of the chapters. Although that particular one is on Julia Darling, a poet who died of breast cancer, but released several poetry collections on the topic before passing away. So, no sexual health in that one (well, aside from the odd mention of poetry on AIDS, as a comparison).

Wow I don't know how you find the time.

Great to have you signed up fella. I've gained much from your blogging.

One of the few advantages of being made redundant is that you have LOADS of time.

Cool: I always enjoy hearing somebody has got something out of it.

HAHA Ouch!

I feel guilty now. I got the link that I provided the thread starter from your BJJ map but I only linked to the club and not to your site.

Then you suddenly appeared lol. I thought I was seeing things.

It's like you knew. I'm all freaked out now!!

Yep, I did know: you must have used a link when you were previewing your post or something, as a preview page from MuscleTalk appeared on my blog stats (I can see everyone who follows a link to any page on the blog, using a handy bit of free tracking from StatCounter.com).

I'm unlikely to have made it over here otherwise, given that (as my picture very clearly demonstrates) I don't exactly do much strength training! ;p

Having said that, Pumping Iron is my favourite documentary of all time (great book, too), and I'm a big fan of Arnie in Conan the Barbarian. For the bodybuilders on here, you might find this blog interesting: she's a pro bodybuilder and powerlifter who also trains in BJJ.

Where about's in/near Cambridge are you?

There is an MMA gym in town near the Grafton Centre (round the back where the Kitchen Consultants place and entry to the Long Stay Car Park is. There is also a GBJJ guy locally, Alex Machado (has a few titles to his name I gather) www.graciebarra-cambridge.com

Ah, is that what they called it then.... I trained there when it was Amax.

Royston is a fare hike from Cambridge TBH (and a sh!tty drive), I take it there are no BJJ classes closer to home

Anybody near the cambridge area with an interest in grappling should really make the effort to go to Braulios' seminar on the 28th Nov.
