Anyone recommend some good breakfasts ? (I posted my diet on another thread, and the thing that stood out the most is that I really neglect breakfast time)

I tend to not have much of an appettite at breakfast so I mix up a high kcal smoothy; oats protein powder or skimmed milk powder banana olive oil choc powder.

Cheers Lads A smoothy does actually sound pretty good, Im not really a big eater in the morning, Im just not hungry as soon as i get up. If I did have to eat something then Oat and milk with protein powder mixed in would be doable. A pal of mine was on about having a 7 egg omelet for his breakfast ! , I just don't think I could face that in the mornings. How much oats would you put in ? a tea cup full ??

I put 100-150g in. This is probably more than a mug. I do make some nice protein cookie mix often; mug oats 30-40g protein powder 4 heaped teaspoons of peanut butter 1/4 cup of milk Bit of fruit (often chopped strawberrys) Mix up into a paste eat. Prior to smoothies for breakfast I was into weetabix 5-8 dependent on goals and plenty of milk. The onl;y problem is you go through milk and 'bix sooo quick it gets a pain and cost dose add up. Plus many a morning you just don't fancy a mixing bowl of 'bix!! Best breaky ever was when I worked in Vietnam; Thin veg soup for starters. Two fried eggs with beef in gravy on top finished of with chilli sauce and lime and a French baggette on the side. Washed down with coffee on ice with condensed milk. Brill!

I have never had any probs. Use porridge oats or at the moment some whole grain outs (or something?)from Lidils. I just use a hand blender. My smoothies end up tasting vey nice. Another good tip is to use frozen fruit.

Another tip. I personally find milk and oats don't mix that well. Better to use water as a base.

pretty similar to what others have by the looks of things but i go for: water protein powder fine oats or weetabix (anything more than 2 weetabix gets very very stodgy and hard to stomach) heaped teaspoon of peanut butter banana spot of extra virgin olive oil sometimes though this one tastes alright: apple juice whey (banana, strawberry or vanilla NOT chocolate!) mixed frozen berries banana that's pretty tasty, not ideal for carbs but guess you could throw some in

there's your basics, so once that's sorted trial and error to see what else you can put in that'll help kickstart the morn! could be 2 banana's, could be some smooth peanut butter, could be some mixed frozen fruit, could be yoghurt, raw egg whites.. anythin goes in a mornin power smoothie :)

worst ones the frozen berries! if they haven't thawed out enough my hand blender stuggles a bit and really has to chew hard to break them down.. sound goes through the entire house more than ever! my housemate has just got used to a blender wakin him up every mornin ha. yea keep it updated espesh if you come up with any new ideas! peanut butters very calorie dense, contains vits + minerals and fibre

Well was up nice an early, Blended up - 1 Banana Half a mug of oats 40g Whey Half a pint of milk Results ........ Not bad ! , actually tasted alright, could possibly do with sweetening up, I guess thats where the peanut butter comes in ! Will have a little look about in Tescos for inspiration next time Im in there. Would like to keep it fairly heathy though so i don't want to be sticking sugary things in with it if i can help it. But all in all, Happy with my first Oat Protein breakfast shake as I normally don't have anything in the mornings (a crime i know !!) Actually feel better at work for it, normally Im quiet lethargic durning the morning, but today I feel really awake.
