Jeff45 To reinvest into next year. To send athletes abroad. To pay the wages of those who run the organisation and work long hours and take a lot of stress. To help fund shows in regions where there is a poor turnout to ensure everyone has geographical access to competative bodybuilding Sorry that you have such a negative attitude to the sport, Jeff. Along with Fantom and Neil Hill, I put on the IFBB Grand Prix this year and we made a HUGE financial loss and took loads of stress. Is there anyway we're doing it in 2012 without expecting to make a profit? No way. Possibly the worst experience of my life! I feel it's a shame that competitors/spectators don't seem to acknowledge these points. The things you mentioned doesn't come from profit, profit is whats left when everything else is taken care of. Thats what I meant by no profit, all the money should be re-invested pay yourselves for putting on the show by all means, I wouldn't do it for nothing either. Any excess monies left over invest in prizes for the finals. I dont have a negative aspect of the sport, I have a realistic attitude, bodybuilding is the least respected(outside the community) worst paid sport in the world bar none. Look at the Olympia prize money, Wayne Rooney earns more in a week. Look at Simon having to pay 180 euros to enter the Arnold show????? Its like lady gaga buying a ticket to her own concert. Ok, then, there is a profit from an event, but no profit year on year - it's invested back. Therefore, all should sit well with you now!

I like the 2 day event to be honest, it was a really good weekend last year. My only gripe is from a competitor point of view. You dont need a ticket but if you want a seat say next to ure gf/wife then you have to buy one or she has to sit by herself and u stand??? doesnt seem fair. unless i have this wrong
Now official board rep for the below products. Feel free to PM me regarding any questions at all.

Therefore, all should sit well with you now! yes the UKBFF are a non profit organisation The UKBFF is a non-profit organization. Members of its Executive Committee are democratically elected and serve on a voluntary basis http://www.ukbff.co.uk/pdfs/UKBFF_Constitution_2010.pdf Anyone running a show for the UKBFF or the IFBB are by definition not allowed to make a profit so any intention to run a show for financial gain would certainly be frowned upon.

Well frown and frown hard. I intend to make a profit because I refuse to teeter on the edge of a nervous breakdown for free!

It doesnt matter to me at all, I wont be frowning, I'm of the same opinion as you, I would expect paying for my time, but thats not profit is it? The UKBFF rules are clear, all monies raised from shows must be put back into the organisation and the yearly accounts must be produced by the treasurer and explained to the executive. One more thing, why doesnt the UKBFF test athletes in line with its own policy? 5.1.4 To promote clean sport, following the IFBB Anti-Doping Policy & Anti-Doping Program

Directors take dividends from profit. No profit, no pay; the staff do get paid. The UKBFF rules are clear, all monies raised from shows must be put back into the organisation and the yearly accounts must be produced by the treasurer and explained to the executive. Well, Simon and I are not employed by the UKBFF, we work for different organisations who run shows and work closely with the UKBFF.

Techically yes, it is. Directors take dividends from profit. No profit, no pay; the staff do get paid. 4.1.1 The UKBFF is a non-profit organization. Members of its Executive Committee are democratically elected and serve on a voluntary basis I read that as they don't get paid regardless of profit

So as a show promoter you are simply being utilised by the UKBFF to run a show. You run the show and tell them how much its going to cost them. That has nothing at all to do with the UKBFF profits and as such you dont fall under the remit of a director. Your previous post indicated directors were only paid if the organisation made a profit, I was simply pointing out that wasnt the case.

Either way, I like the Finals being over 2 days and I hope the event will make a profit in order for them to be able to invest in the athletes for next year.
