Thats what I use my empty ones for that and assorted nails ans such

A question for you guys in UK- You have ocean on both all side if I'm correct..how far inland are the waters brackish ?
You catch carp in these waters, rivers or strictly freshwater lakes ? just curious

I guess they would be brackish for a mile or two, but that is only a guess. I have fished at Oulton Broad which is right by the coast and I have had carp there one a few and only small but it seems in such places there is a good mixture of both sea and fresh water fish.

Many years ago, i fished the rivers, but in more recent years I stuck to the lakes.

You still got the happy memories of past deeds gone by, you can be even happier now that youre a very sexy barsteward as well

I'll see if i can catch one for you on friday mate. Off to Earlswood lakes, Birmingham. I've got a good feeling as the temperature has been slowly dropping the past few days and i reckon theres more chance of them feeding after the recent heat

I have done a google search to get tips on fishing earlswood, and along with some rain today and a temperature drop i'm feeling a bend in the rods coming on

I lived in Redditch for a little while a few years back so i know how to find Arrow valley, i'll try and get some more info. Thanks mate.

Just need to go and buy a bedchair and few little bits of end tackle today. Crash on my mates sofa tonight and go fishing nice and early friday morning. If i catch and my camera on my phone works ok, i'll post some pics. Even if they are tiddlers

Few things didn't go to plan and only got to spend a few hours at Earlswood. My mate caught 2 and lost 2 but i blanked.

Started fishing at Trittiford park in birmingham at 6am saturday, caught my 1st fish in 15yrs an hour later. And what a beauty, a new PB at 23lbs 3oz.
The photo taken was crap due to a few things. My mate took ages to get his sling and scales, then my camera wasn't working properly so took ages to take pics. I was concerned that the fish would revive its energy and jump about after being out of the water for what was proberly a brief time, but seemed like plenty to me. Basically i was paranoid of dropping it and causing it harm so i didn't hold it at the right height to show it off properly.

A lovely fight and playing it came back naturally, time to look for some local pools now
