Been having a very hectic few days, nearly into the proofing and editing stage of the thesis, it's all coming together but just been working my ass off. Suffice it to say this has been to the detriment of my diet. Should be back on track in the next few days though

Supposed to be doing Legs today, but as in the previous post I'm up to my eyes and just don't have to time to drive all the way to the gym today, so I'll be doing Legs tomorrow instead

goodluck with your thesis mate, this is for your master degree right? im hoping to do a MEng/EngD if i get through my BEng. ive decided to cut my cals now aswell, the fat gain has been quite bad so im going to reduce them to around 3000kcals per day, or maybe 2500kcals, havent decided yet, ill get a proper diet sorted after my exam next week, then im gonna join the gym i think so looking forward to that.

Yep its for my masters in law. You should defo do a masters, to be honest I'd be lying if I said I wasn't partly motivated to do one just because I wanted to live the college life for another year haha. Terrified of entering the real world! Can't wait til this thesis is done though, I haven't been out on the piss in literally months because of it (well, that plus training). So as soon as I hand it in I'm hitting the student bar and getting seriously messy. Cutting cals mightn't be a bad idea, but I'd reckon 2500 is too little to bulk on. How much do you weigh? I know the fat gain is annoying (tell me about it!) but remember you are planning on cutting relatively soon so adding a little bit of fat wouldn't be the worst thing.

yeh i know what you mean about entering the real world, everything changes then dont it. time to take life seriously :(. im wanting to do a EngD as some guy who used to be in my uni has gone on to work in saudi arabia earning £75000 for 10 months work. he was lucky as fcuk as his dad was origionally working out there, but its an incentive to work hard. i think im going to aim for 225g pro, 375g carbs, 60g fat so ~2940Kcals, make it a lean bulk and try to do three cardio sessions per week aswell. where are you looking to work then?

Sounds like a solid plan mate. Keep up the cardio do I've found that's certainly helping me. Well when I finish my masters I have a month or two off then I start studying for the FE-1s (entrance exams to the Irish Law Society) where I'll train as a solicitor. I've worked in a firm a few times before and hopefully I made enough of an impression there to let them take me on for an apprenticeship. So I've basically got about 2 years until I'm qualified as a solicitor and then I'll throw myself at the mercy of prospective employers!

Legs Squat - 60kg - 14 (+4), 14 (+4), 12 (+2) Calf Raise (Smith) - 70kg - 14, 14, 14 SLDL (Smith) - 60kg - 14, 12, 11 Abs: Weighted Sit-Ups - 25kg (3x25) Strange session today. For all intents and purposes it was my first Leg session in about a month, because I was under strict orders from the physio to not squat or anything similar. I aimed for 3x14 on all exercises today, and I reckon I'll do this from now on. My quads were killing me though even after just the first set of Squats. I felt like I was pulling them or something, or actually no it felt like they were cramping up at the bottom of each rep. Maybe I didn't warm up enough. Also I tried out SLDL for the first time and I think I can safely add them to the list of exercises I can't do, they absolutely destroyed my knees . I think the hyperextension of the knee joint in this exercise really doesn't agree with my already sh1te knees. So for hammys I'm going to have to just go back to machine Leg Curls. Apart from that it was an ok session I guess, it nearly killed me. I was so exhausted after it that I just couldn't do any cardio. Which is surely a good thing in a way, I must be doing something right.

Push Bench Press - 75kg - 10 (+2), 8, 7 (-1) Incline DB Press - 26kg each - 9 (-1), 8 (+1), 7 (-1) DB Shoulder Press - 22kg each - 6 (-4)* Decline DB Press - 32kg each - 7, 6 (-1), 5 (-1) Tricep Pushdowns - Setting 13 of 15 (+1) - 10, 10, 9 Strange session again. Increased the rep range to 8-10 for the Flat bench and so this is why I was down a few reps on the Incline afterwards. *I started doing Shoulder Press like I said I would, and I was literally shocked that I was so weak on these when doing them after Chest. So shocked in fact that I said fcuk that and didn't bother doing any more sets. I think its absolutely pointless trying to do shoulders the same day as chest, my strength was down by 40%, its ridiculous. So I'm going to go back to doing Shoulders with Legs. I decided to try the Decline DB Press after that and understandably it was down considerably because normally I would do it before Incline, rather than after it. Anyway, I realise that ever since I've started this journal I've been messing around with my routine quite a lot, and this would give the reader the impression that I am one of these guys who continuously changes my routine and never sticks to anything. This couldn't be further from the truth, its just the fact is me starting this journal happened to coincide with the return of my rotator cuff problem which means I was forced to try and change things around a bit to compensate. I am back to the routine outline in page 1, and I'm sticking to it, it seems to be the most logical way.

Wasnt really following the convo about diet, but I did 3,000 for a month and the fat gain was noticable. Im back down to 2,600-2,700 now and seems much better. Obv its down to the individual but I hate putting on fat for the sake of it, cant wait to cut again next year!
