Elbow is feeling a lot better now so I think the rest is doing it the world of good. I think I needed a break anyway because when I think about it I haven't taken a week off training or even a deload week in months. I'm going to rest for another week I think, just to be sure. This girl I'm seeing showed me some yoga moves yesterday and it really highlighted just how inflexible my upper body is. Some really interesting stretches though so I'm going to try to do them as often as I can.

Ah it's not going that well mate, I've had to take the last week off due to my elbow injury and I will probably have to take another off too. Plus despite doing keto for nearly 9 weeks now and taking t3 for about 6 weeks and being in my second week of clen, I don't appear to have gotten any leaner at all, well maybe slightly. I'm hoping this is just because of the test causing bloat, because any other time I've done keto I've started to see results in about 4 weeks, and this is without any t3 or clen or anything. Plus my motivation for diet has massively dwindled from not being able to train, although this week has been good so far. So it hasn't been a mind blowing cycle, primarily because of injury, but I imagine the bloat is just (hopefully) masking any fat loss which is just making me a bit frustrated.

Wow that looks really good, will definitely try it, thanks bro! Do you reckon it would work with a standard elbow wrap? I have one that I can get very tight compression around the elbow, but it's a different material to the kind of rubber stuff used in those examples. I imagine it would have the same effect though?

Yeah I've read knee wraps can be used; give it a go and see if you can get it tight enough.

I've no doubt I can get it tight enough, I used it for benching once and it was so tight that I couldn't even get the bar to touch my chest haha. Cheers bro I will try this, glad to hear that it was apparently championed by Donnie Thompson too, a powerlifter, so if it worked for him and allowed him to have 1300 lbs on his back in a low bar position then it may just help me too....

The reason i tried it was because of Donnie recommending it! I did it around 9 this morning and pain gone..instantly, first time i've had zero pain in months. I think a knee wrap would work too, just get it EXTREMELY TIGHT. Really hope it works for you mate.

Let's hope so. My joy at having painless elbows turned out to be premature and after rugby Saturday, benching Monday and pendlay rows last night they're worse than ever. Hopefully this does provide some relief! I feel like a child on Christmas eve except all I'm getting is an inner tube...

Cheers lads really appreciate it. Glad to hear its worked for you Ox mate. Do you reckon doing it pre and post-wo would be a good idea also? Just to clarify, it's actually an elbow wrap I have, rather than trying to use a knee wrap for it, it's got a little loop to put your arm through and Velcro at the other end, so designed specifically to get the elbow very compressed, I thought that's what they were using in that Pendlay vid at first! So hopefully it'll do the trick.

I think any wrap if wrapped tight enough will work but i think the rubber inner tube is the best option mate. It has to be very very tight and the rubber tube is just the job tbh.

I'll copy and paste this little write up in the various logs to which I participate and it is relevant to: I went to a bike shop on the way to the gym, got an inner tube for 3 quid, borrowed some scissors off the guy after explaining what I was going to use it for and cut the tube up. When I got to the gym I wrapped my arm up in the car, one at a time, as tight as I could (I don't feel it was quite tight enough, quite hard on my own sat down in car) but the results are amazing. Instant relief from pain, not only that, I did close grip bench with no pain at all! I was wincing as the bar came down on the first set as it usually kills but NO PAIN!! I'm sat here now and they don't hurt at all. I can kind of "feel" them but no pain. It's a miracle. Heavy benching will be the real test but so far I'm so impressed... incredulous in fact.

Very promising... I haven't gotten around to trying this yet because I stayed out with the bird last night. Will try tonight, although I'm not sure it'll make much difference right now because I don't have any pain in my elbows at the moment as I have rested them for nearly 2 weeks. I suppose the test will be what happens when I start lifting again (next week).

Probably find out we're doing some real long term damage to our joints and when I hit 40 my arms will fall off. At least I'll spend the next 17 years or so looking HENCH MUSH!

Haha that is a thought I had, might it be the case that doing this simply numbs the area so you cant feel the pain, and so allows you to power through heavy training all the while making the tendon worse without realising....? Don't get me wrong I'm still going to do it, haha

Of course you are. I don't think it numbs it, the action is supposed to be similar to massage, i.e. forcing blood into the affected area. Mine is still feeling pretty good today, I'm going to have another go at lunchtime.

Ah yeah I know I was just playing devils advocate, I don't really think that. My understanding of tendinitis is that it just inflammation of the tendon, so reduce the inflammation and you're reducing the problem. You're not getting rid of the cause of the problem, which for me appears to be tight shoulders/upper back, but it is still alleviating the problem to the extent that it is no longer a problem.
