Something similar occured where I work minus the sample being added to music lol

I think in the end it was decided that you are entitled to record the conversation as long as you were part of that conversation and you did not have to let the other parties know.

i cant see how they could sack you for that.  unfortunatley if youve only been there 10 months, you dont have much in the way of rights

Cu3ed, it is not illegal to record privately... It probably is to then broadcast it without permission but the point I'm making is I wasn't breaking the law by recording the meeting on my iphone...

I'm not in til friday evening and I think both the managers are away on holiday as from tomorrow.... I could get a job at maccies If I need it, I know, sounds terrible but I worked there for 2 years and it's alot better than this **** house. At least there you get a free meal on your break, fair enough it's not the healthiest but it's free.

Don't get too excited about the track, I doubt any of you would like it... 140bpm, grimey sort of garage hybrid sounding vibe..

No, sorry, you are quite wrong, they legally have to tell you, even lots of newspapers ( when the Sun recorded Gorden Brown apologising to the mother who son second name he spelt wrong), when he was recorded in the telephone conversation, they had to remove it, after a legal threat came down on them, plenty of others where say about how it was obtained though illegal means. They never persued it of course ( wanting it just to all go away), but they could have easily.
And a good reason who the whole story backfired on the Sun so specularly.
Same reason Police place a nice obvious microphone in room when interviewing people, legally telling them at the start what can be used on tape etc. If they where allowed too they would hide all of that stuff and try and catch them out then have it on tape, but they cant.

Lol, in which case my business has been breaking the law for the last few years by recording all incoming and outgoing calls without any warning or announcement.

Except that we haven't been breaking the law. We did our homework at the outset and established that it's perfectly legitimate.

The issue of subsequent broadacsting is separate and we seem to agree on that one.

I think I know the company you work for IIRC (begin with W?), used to work for it myself, and tbh if they want to sack you they will find a way.

the list of 'gross misconduct' offences to accuse you off is massive and vague for this reason.

they are a truly dispicable company. in the kitchen I worked in I saw food dropped on the floor, washed in the sink (only if visible dirt) and sent down to customers all the time, as well as out of date food relabelled as long as it looked passable.

all in the name of profit and bonuses for managers

I suggest getting out of there

My question is how on earth did any of the concerned members of staff actually sit through all of that, just to hear those few snippets which are hardly identifying?
