Can i eat standing up? - 23 October 2009 21:33 ( #1 )
Such a random question I know, but i have no dining area in my flat and until now its been a case of sitting on sofa, food on tray on lap but i do struggle to get loads in, not the greatest of positions to eat in, coupel of times i've been busy in kitchen I've eaten standing (food on side) while i'm doing either food for tomorrow, washing up etc and i seem to be able to eat so much more, is there any reason i shouldnt do this?

Depends. Do you struggle to gain weight or struggle to keep the fat off? I find if eating in the kitchen i pick at things and very easily overeat. But if i cook a meal i'll have the meal and stick to that. It leaves me fuller and more satisfied. If this helps you to get in the protein/calories required tho then crack on. I do however find sitting down more comfortable to eat and seems to help with digestion.

When you eat standing up, the Calories don't count.
That's a joke, by the way.

True. Similar to when you take 4 squares of chocolate from the fridge, then break it into two., As long as you eat two squares before sitting back down again with the remainding two squares in your hand you really only ate two squares in total. Eating very quickly while no one is looking is also good one. Generally ties in with the standing up rule.

I though that when you opened the fridge door at night your body was blinded to calories in the first 10seconds by the light!

And food from someone elses plates only has calories for them - plus if you have a diet coke it cancels out calories from your food!

I eat half a biscuit.  That doesn't count.  Then later on I eat another half a biscuit, that doesn't count either - as I didn't eat a whole biscuit.   Groanworthy isn't it
