Car alarm keeps going off!

Anybody had a problem with their car alarm constantly going off?

My vaxhaul frontera alarm wont turn off. I've disconnected the battery to shut it up. Phoned a place called '1st alert' who said they can't do anything with it and it's a common fault (not sure if he meant fronteras or vachauls). Have to take it to a vaxhual dealer.

Anybody had the same thing happen and know how much it costs?

    There are a few things that could cause the alarm to go off;

    1. The alarm is being triggered by a faulty interior sensor
    2. A faulty switch, common faults on vw's are the bonnet switch triggering the alarm or the boot lock switch getting water ingress from the leaking rear washer.
    3. The alarm control unit is faulty or has water ingress, i know you have a vauxhall but this is common on passats.
    4. The batteries in the remote could be dead, obviously not deactivating the alarm.

    I work for VW and we charge an arm and a leg. Standard diagnosis charge is £85inc and are labour rate is £115ph! Still, it pays my bills!

    Drive your car off a jetty into the sea.

    Your neighbours will thank you eternally.

    I had to do the same thing on my vauxhall. I ended up taking the fuse out for the alarm.

    Cheers guys. I didn't realise you could disable an alarm system just by pulling the fuse. Just done that, and I have my car back. No damn way was I paying anybody £115/hour.
