Centrel heating problem

Bit of an odd one, when heating goes off normally you can here a humming for about 5 mins or so while everything winds down. Anyway last night heating went off but where the hot water tank is there was a gentle humming all night anyone had this before?

pump running, motorised valve not closing properly, water moving! haha, im afraid its impossible to say over the net!
if its doing it tonight, get in the cupboard and trace the noise!
