OMG Flick! That means so much 😍 I feel so isolated sometimes doing what I do with noone to compare to that it is very easy to start doubting myself. Thanks for your feedback!

You're doing NABBA toned right? Think you're pretty much on track from shape up pics...

I agree.

Tips, try to ignore all the different advice re the last few days before competition. There are so many myths, and in truth mostly not needed for Toned (and often even the much leaner categories). Keep it simple.

Thanks gingernut. I'll keep that in mind. Coach always says consistency and hardwork is key. I don't even have creatine. I eat good quality foods (breaking the bank) and working my socks off. I just need to trust the process. However I've been on prep for a couple of weeks and not lost a pound! Hard to keep motivated as I'm a numbers girl.

I used to lose suddenly in the 4th week, it might be the same for you. I didn't usually notice much until a 8 weeks in, which is fine because you don't want to peak too soon - very hard being lean for long periods.

That's so reassuring Gingernut, thank you. My weight has stayed about the same but I have noticed a few inches off my waist so something is working :-) I'm competing April-June so I think my coach is being wise. My old coach would be amending all the time. It feels weird as I am never feeling hungry, in fact the opposite at the moment. I feel like I'm constantly eating and sometimes a bit bloated from all the food.

Tomorrow I am at a group posing session. My coach is running it and it's free which is fab. Just a 3 hour drive to get there though. Really looking forward to it :-)

Hi Flick, thanks for asking. I travelled to Brum on Saturday and back Sunday. 3 hours is a long way for posing but we had a great session from 10am-130pm. PCA are doing a great job at listening to athletes and giving back. I've been to an independent posing session before and it was terrible. This was amazing in comparison and free and free t-shirt & goody bags and a free meal if I wanted. Incredible really.
The coaching was excellent (I may be biased though, but Leica Gelsei is very thorough!)
As usual there are loads of bikini girls. I wish I knew the name of the girl but she obviously has a lot of experience and her presence was amazing. She led the bikini girls and coach looked after the figure girls. We were in our heels after a short introduction and learned how to strut our stuff. Sassy is the game! Heel toe, heel toe. Smile, smile, smile. Connect with the audience.
We went into quarter turns. Everything was explained and answered. So helpful. It's about showing our personality and showing our best. Scoring was explained to us. Also how to remain and maintain semi relaxed position at the back. Tweaking our poses to make the most out of compulsory ones. I loved that we were not all asked to keep to the same thing and to show our individuality.
Before we left, we had a run through show and practiced call outs etc. All classes.
I chatted to coach briefly at the end. She said my progress is showing much more in person than on my pictures which is a relief. Apparently I did a good job which I was pretty chuffed about.
I had a lot of time to reflect on my journey back. Yes my goal is to compete. Hell, my dream is to compete in the finals! But whatever happens from now I already feel like a winner. I'm seeing a better version of me all the time. I have shown that if I work for it changes will happen. I have learnt that I am coachable and focused. (something I was doubting at Christmas) Sometimes I work too hard at striving to look like others and forget how far I have come. Changes take time and effort and I like seeing the results of my hard work at the moment.
