Rasputin,

What was it like? I've looked at it but was put off by;

1) The complicated timetable
2) None of the coaches were detailed
3) Looked aimed at the fitness crowd?

I could be wrong, what's it like? Who are the coaches?

Cheers fella.

The coaches are a few of the guys who used to run Pancrase. They know their onions.

Well its got Paul who is the ex pancrase coach. Think its aimed at class specific ie if your good striaght into advanced etc if you want to fight etc. Im looking at doing all the classes so should be good its a weird set up ie pay the fifty quid initial introduction fee but tbh facilities are wicked. Think the pay fifty quid deters the fitness type crowd tho should give it a look mate

Lumpini Thai Boxing at Ocean Gym in Southampton

Great gym with some really friendly guys (and girls) there.

Sean Toomey is an excellent instructor and as a result many of the fighters do well in national bouts.  eg Tom 'Kong' Watson

Re: RE: Club section - 29 May 2010 04:23
I didnt enjoy Next Gen that much when I went, thought the class sizes were too big and you didnt get much instruction, however he does train a lot of fighters etc, so good place to go if you want to get really serious I suppose. They have moved from Mount Pleasant now though and have a unit on the corder of Leeds St and the Dock road going out towards Southport.

Anyone got any further details of reputable clubs in Liverpool, preferably South? Thai or Western boxing....

Have found details of Childwall Thai Boxing, training at Childwall School (nr Fiveways) on Monday and Friday nights at 5 or 6 (cant remember which!) will report how it is when I am back in Mersey next week...

I train when I can with Panthainarasingh who are brilliant but bad locations for me now - they train at Walton Lifestyles Gym on Mondays and Wednesdays, and the Netherton Activity Centre on Tues and Thurs, fighters training every Sunday at 2pm at the Sefton ABC. No egos, dead cheap training, really good instructor :)
