Considering adding another day... 19 November 2009 11:20 (permalink)
Hello,

Currently i am on a 3 day split something along the lines of....

Monday - Bicep/Back/Abs - (45mins - 60min session)
Wide arm pull ups - 3 x 8
BB Curls - 3 x 8
Bent over BB row - 3 x 8
Cable Hammer curls - 3 x 8
DB side bends - 3 x 10
crunches where you lie on the floor, feet up in the air and touch your toes but alternate sides e.g. right with left etc.( I'll refer to them as touch toe crunches :D ) 3 x 20
and Seated crunches on the pull down machine where you hold the bar in your hands, and clamp it behind your ears and crunch - 3 x 10

Wednesday - Tricep/Chest/Shoulders/Abs
Weighted dips - 3 x 8
DB Bench press - 3 x 8
Pec Deck - 3 x 8
DB Shoulder press - 3 x 8
Incline/Decline bench - 3 x 8 depends on the session
Skull crushers - 3 x 8
DB Side bends - 3 x 8
Touch toe crunches - 3 x 20

Friday - Legs/Abs

Deadlifts - 3 x 8
Deep close legged squats - 3 x 8
Seated leg press - 3 x 8
Calf raises - 3 x 8 Done nice and slow!
DB Side bends - 3 x 8
Seated weighted crunches - 3 x 10

I've been getting some great gains however i want to enhance my chest mainly but my biceps too.
If i were too train on a saturday and do a chest/bicep focus session would that be okay or not?

thanks

I dont see why not, if you feel ok to do so then id go for it. Maybe set a 6 week routine up, hit it hard, then back off to 3 days to give the chest time to recover?

If you do, id probably half the workload on your tuesday workout.

You do have a lot of options though, you could do tuesday heavy saturday light, or tuesday compound saturday isolation, all depends on what suits you more.

I myself have put together a 4 day split following the compound/isolation method which i am due to start in Jan, might give you some ideas?

Yeah i was considering giving it ago for a few weeks 6 week one sounds decent.

Legs is on a Friday but the only one which could affect me over all is DL for biceps.

Also yeah i was looking at more Isolate exercises for the saturday apart from maybe a few so....

      Bench - 3 x 8
      Incline/Decline (the opposite to what i do on the Wednesday) - 3 x 8
      Pec Deck - 3 x 8
      Chin ups - 3 x 8
      BB Curls - 3 x 8
Hammer/Cable curls (depends on technique with the DB if not then cable) - 3 x 8
      Cable flies potentially.... 3 x 8

So quite a few exercises there, obviously a few compounds but hopefully it'll help my chest grow more.

I see how your doing it, tell me how it goes, i think i may try week days how they are and then Saturday isolates except a few.
