Its all about Dream tan. I phoned up to EFBB and NABBA, and they all say its banned now and you cant use it, if you`ll use it you`ll be disqualified. Than I like an idiot used Pro tan, applied about seven times in three day before contest....well I thought I was brown enough. Went to contest and on stage half guys were black like devils from Dream tan, and they competed with no problems from judges...compare with them I looked like with now tan at all .That pissed me of. Next time I`ll be on Dream tan aswell. Federations moarning that it is banned, but everyone using it. No f****ing rules at all. Maybe its is banned for some bodybuilders?!....like first timers and novices?. Its all bull****.....if you ban something than make the same rule for everyone.

it is supposed to be banned in the efbb, has been for 4 years or so now but never has it been banned by nabba, NEVER EVER. i did see a thread last night somewhere showing a recent efbb show backstage and there was pics of guys being tanned up with dream tan!

so i think it is a case of certain shows banning it and some not. i was also told by a few people that organisers of some efbb shows actually go around the athletes and rub a finger down their arm to see if they are using dream tan, they either fine them £25 on the spot or they have been taking their name and number and not allowing them onstage.

        now thats ****e!

hi guys, a few of my friends who competed at the hayes efbb show last weekend actually told me that a few people were actually made to rub off there ddream tan before they went on stage. which is crap really as loads of other people used it without no problems.

Well at the qualifiers you would get away with dream tan. Just dont be blaitant about using it. In the hays show i tanned my friend in the morning of the show, leaving his hands, forearms and neck un tanned. Then we re-applied back stage very early before it got busy and made sure it dried in time. We brought our own cloths to put on chairs etc so we was careful not to smuj anythin. Someone will Always use dream tan in a show and its just not right, either every one uses it or no one uses it the efbb does not enforce their rules properly. They pick on some people for using it yet pay no attention to others.

This is such a crock! I cannot believe what I have just read. We all know DT to be good and pro-tan is nothing more than a base coat upon which you put the DT.

As for dirtying the venue, if the organisers put plastic sheets down and on the walls then there would be no problem. Shows should be about the competitors not some suit massaging his ego. In anycase the DT is being applied to the person, not thrown on the walls!

I would ask for clear written rules and regulations explaining the situation and if the do not have it then threaten to sue them over their actions IMO.

My idealistic side says boycott shows that ban DT but we know this is not practical unfortunately.

After all that effort to come in 'white' conpared to others is disgusting imo. We all know how good tan can win or lose you the comp.

Some suit will get smacked over this if not already.

Say DT is banned but someone gets DT relabelled as say SafeTan well that is not banned is it? Ways around all of this but if anyone can find out the rules detailed on paper that would be good.

I was there in the 1st timers and also learnt not to follow the rules....I specifically asked the organiser about dreamtan b4 and at the show. Was told would be disqualified if used it....most of the other competitors did...some got a ticking off and one told to wipe some of it off. I was not in winning shape, though looking way too light on stage did me no favours.

Also what's the score with the 1st timers....is it really 1st time for each organisation????

2 of the top 3 at the EFBB show had competed a week earlier at the NABBA SE show, and I presume the 1st placed had also competed in the Midlands.

It seems to be best to ignore all the rules if you want to win....genuine 1st timers must be put off!!

I think it's madness that you're judged on your tan. You need to be dark so you don't get washed out and made to look flat by the lights but dream tan is much more than is needed to see the shape of the muscle.

it was the mess that got it banned but also they felt it covered too many sins on the skin, tattoos, stretchmarks, scars etc, well im fuc*** if i canny cover my stretch marks, ive had a set of twins and my stretchmarks could make a grown man run for the hills cos mine burst open i was soo big. i dont know how im going to get around the dt ban cos if someone was to tell me i cant get onstage i would smack someone right on the nose.

I was told last year at the EFBB Britain finals not to use it by the ones looking after me due to getting eiher disqualified or a point taken of, i had only used pro tan for a base coat and was going to put on dream tan just before ythe show, was advised to leave it behind which i did, landed to show and all in my class was using it, totally pissed off, narrowly missed out on placing and when i applied it later in the evening for photos was told that it would have made the difference to my placing. That annoyed me even more when even officials havent a clue.

                                babyb,

things like that need to be sorted out, cos we suffer dieting for a show and it can all go tits up over the tanning product. ive heard of folk going to a show without dt and looking very pale where as some of the guys are blatantly using dt and getting away with it. to hell with it, i will be using dt for the mansfield.

                                  Hi Ripped Glutes,

Def go for it, i can tell u now that all in my class that placed were using it and it does make all the difference between wether all the sacrifices are worth it just over tan, makes an evan playing field. Anyway good luck in the mansfield and def go for the dream tan or check out other competitors when u get there and make your own assessments, obviously officials cant help on this one. Shame really.

I the same as you Ripped Glutes, and I know we have talked about this before, you told me not to worry about strectch marks as I can cover them with tan, but on my comp form for NABBA Hayes 22 April it said ( PLEASE NOTE DREAM TAN IS NOT ALLOWED)

What I was going to do is have a 3 layer spray tan then the morning of comp cover my self in Pro tan or shall I just for get that and use DT. THIS IS SO SILLY !! got so much more to worry about before comp, F..king tan shouldnt be one of them!!

nabba dont have a problem with the use of DT, so it must be the actual venue of hayes that the problem...

efbb have banned the dream tan at the brits. they said to all competitiors that if we are seen applying DT we will either be told to remove it or have points deducted form final score. there was posters stating this all over the venue. i went to bed wearing a thick layer of DT the night before the show and just applied almond oil on the day of the show and that was not a problem.

however there was a few competitors openly applying DT backstage and not a word was said to them. as far as nabba goes ide say vas is right. it will be the venue who have banned it. DT do a good trade at these shows and to ban the products use throughout nabba they would loose money and the shows would loose sponsorship from DT
