DC Training with HIIT cardio and alternative split

Gonna start doing DC routine however really DON'T want to SS cardio!!! Was wondering has anyone done HIIT cardio along with it. I can't see why if your diet is in check and you keep it too a minimum I realise you work at a high intensity during the weight training but the volume is very low compared to most routines, also what if I was to do 5-10 mins HIIT cardio after weights so I still have off days to recover

I can't see why not. The only thing would be that it's more of the same - rest / pause training - which the body could adapt to. For me, more than anything, cardio should have a variety of approaches to sustain it's effectiveness fully.

I've been following a DC style routine, & doing HIIT ; weights / reps still going up on each exercise so I've found it ok. I believe Ox dabbled in HIIT while he was following DC as well. I would see how you get on, & if progress starts to slow be prepared to switch out the HIIT for SSCV. To be honest I've had better results cutting while using HIIT than I did with SSCV.

both intense training methods but if fuelled right for your metabolism maybe possible for a certain period of time. All depends upon your goals? All training should be periodised to some degree mate

2 of my favorite methods of training, DC and HIIT cardio. its always suited me better than the high volume workouts. Id do the HIIT after the workouts as you`l still get the whole workout done in under an hour, and i always feel it has a better fat burning effect done straight after a weights workout. I agree with periodization and mixin it up. For me id do 6-8 weeks of DC and HIIT followed by a period of basic full body workouts and SSCV. If your goal is to lose some bodyfat ya could include some morning SSCV on ya days off and stick to HIIT only on workout days.

thinking of using an alternative split as well, I would still do 1 day 1 day off volume but instead of A Chest Shoulders back thickness back width Triceps B Quads Hams Calfs Biceps forearms I was thinking of doing a push/pull or posterior/anterior if you like and it would be: A Chest shoulders triceps calfs Quads B Back thickness back width biceps forearms hams What do u think/
