Dating Websites

What's everyone's thoughts on them? Has anyone had any success?

Considering, as most of you can understand, most of my time is spent up the gym and my spare time socialising with mates and the guys that go out aren't exactly likeminded fitness fanatics :-/

Maybe gyms should hold speed dating events, that'd be interesting! Ha.

Just don't bother with any you have to pay for.

That's exactly the reason I avoid Reading all the blokes are just looking to get their end away haha.

Besides if you're blonde attractive and in shape guys are all that interested in getting to know you! Unfortunate that most guys can't look past the exterior...

Which is why I'm considering a dating website so they may actually make some kind of effort to get to know me ha

I met my current partner on a dating site (seems to be the way people done things in London)
 
I would recommend using a paid as opposed to a free one though, you get what you pay for (no pun intended at all)

Just to clarify Rapunzel - you are a female aren't you?  It's just some people will assume you are a guy and I can forsee the 'getting your end away' comments rolling in ha!
 
As for dating sites, yes I have used them in the past.  I think the ones you pay for tend to attract people who are more 'serious' about dating and perhaps finding a relationship as opposed to a casual bonk!

In terms of dating websites. Dont think theres any harm in it. Its a lot easier then say being in a bar/pub ( if approachign is a tough thing to do), or to fit into your own lifestyle. But you have to realise by it being easier you are open to expose yourself to a lot more freaks too.

I should probably clarify yes I'm female 22 and looking to date the thought of joining a website specifically for people looking for a serious relationship seems a bit daunting to me.

Would be great if they could create a 'let's go on a date and see how things go' website haha.

Well my current partner who i met off a dating site isnt that crazy.. lol shes lovely, we've been together for nearly 2 years. It is as easy as 'lets go for a date'. From what ive seen some sites, you register and its as easy as just messsaging people etc. showing them your interested etc. Some even bring up lists of profiles where people are available for just the afternoon for a meal or in the evening for a meet up. Nothing pressured etc. So its cool. I think you have to put in the effort though. thats where people fail, like myself. You have to go into it all out, be proactive etc. You might meet 10 losers in a row.... but number 11 could be the one. Not saying thats how it will happen, but you know what i mean. I think its easy to get put off when meeting a few weirdos, but then again its like that in the real world to.

Depends what you mean by success. I've recently started using POF and have had sex with at least one person per week from it since I started. I would never in a million years use it to look for anything long term though.

I feel for you, I really do. Must be really tough. We all would like to be that ugly person that nobody fancies but unfortunately life isn't fair and some of us are just cursed with good looks. Take care you brave soul x

Wow don't you just love sarcasm. Unfortunately this is what I get on a regular basis do not judge a book by It's cover.

Also a perfect example why I would like to join a dating website so a guy can take the time to get to know me instead of making the assumption that I'm obviously completely in love with myself haha
