Well now, they say a photo is better than a thousand words don't they? Well that photo says it all, and IMHO they all look very good. But, and there is a but...alvins legs need more work, i know genetically his calves will never be amazing, but still....his legs are not 2nd place legs, or even 3rd. Zak looks the best condition in his life, but very little vascularity in his legs, if any!!! So Zak should not have come first. Jus because its the best he looked, doesn't mean he should take the title.....

Now onto Daz...vascular, full, ripped, (tan has nowt to do with it, what the **** had tan got to do with his condition) Legs like a steam train, tight as ****, best he has ever looked, and he gets third...??? Come on judges, we can all see who should have won.

I dont write much here, but I do read the boards most days. I dont compete, but i do train, and ive been to a few shows in my time, and in my eyes Darren won, he knows it, I know it, and you know. Nothing against Zak and Alvin, but the best guy did not win on the day. This sport is a joke sometimes, and unfortunately its not like the 100 metres sprint, where there is a clear winner over the line, it all comes down to a group of men and women, who depending on there mood, and what ever 'swayed' them on the day. Is there not a better way to judge??? how about X factor style, where the public gets to vote??? Mmmm that would be interesting wouldn't it? We can all hand in our voting papers at the end of the day, and then surely 500 or so opinions would be more accurate than a judging panel who can be swayed by who knows what.....like to hear any of your thought on the above comment.

Thanks
FZR

Absolute boll0cks! You just bum Daz cos he's a muscletalk athlete and this is his journal! Lets try and look at this as objectively as possible (even though there's no point as it's over); Zack had the best arms, an amazing back, great conditioning, the most pleasing shape and was definitely the best man on the day. However his legs weren't quite up to par with Daz's and he had some clear gyno. Daz had amazing conditioning, vascularity, freaky legs etc, but had weak arms and an extremely distended midsection. His other body parts weren't good enough to cancel out the distension and that, and a variety of other factors meant that he didn't win. It wasn't just the tan issue - you place Daz next to Zack and you can tell who the world class athlete is going to be.

I've been to see and had luch with Daz today.  He was really chilled and it was good to catch up.  We discussed a game plan for 2010 and he's sill looking really sharp - easily just 2 weeks out from stage condition!

I'll get him to post his new diet

Re:Daz Ball's Journal - Beyond the Finals! - 11 December 2009 10:08
Hi sorry not posted for a bit just been thinking about 2010, my nickname for 2010 is  THE BIG SHOW!, I was named this by all the lads at the gym. This will be a journal regarding my diet and training for 2010. After a disapointing 3rd postioning, Ive decided on a new gameplan, rather than being a 'Bigger' bodybuilder I wish to become a 'better' bodybuilder. These are my three steps to make the adjustments needed to achieve me goal;

1) Reducing my waist, to bring in beter X-frame and more pleasing look

2) Improve the size in my hamstrings and biceps, in order to bring a better and more fuller package.

3) Deepen the seperation in muscle.

Changed also included diet. Last years diet consisted of high carbs, this year will see a reduction in carbs and higher fats. Carbs seem to give me more bloated look, which is remedied by fats. The breakdown of my diet last year, 500 grams protein, 800-1000 grams carbs, 80-100 grams fat, this equates to the 6000 calorie mark, changes also included a reduction in my calories to 4000. I feel this will help me reduce the size on my waist. My bodyweight is down from this time last year, 273 lbs where as last year it was 295 lbs. I feel confortable at a lighter weight. I have certainly seen a difference on my waist and feel much more stronger, as you will in my fourth coming journal. Before in continue with my diet, i'd like to congrats to Zack for winning his pro-card and wish him all the best in the pro-ranks.

Diet
When I get up, 50 grams of whey

Meal 1) 120 grams of Oats, 2x packes of raisens, 40 grams of nuts, 1x glass of grape juice, 65grams of propetide. 200grams of egg whites. 2tablets of pro-biotics.

Meal 2) 250 grams of Lean steak Mince, Salad, 20 grams of Udos. 2 digestive tablets

Meal 3) 250 grams of Lean steak Mince, salad 25 grams of Udos. 2 Digestive tablets

Meal 4) 180 grams of Rump Steak, 2 whole eggs, salad. 20 grams of Udos
Digestive tablets 2

Meal 5) 100 grams Oats 1 packet raisens, 25 grams of nuts, 65 grams of pro pepitide.

Meal 6) Post-workout. 1 carb Drink, 50 grams of Vitargo, 70 grams of myofusion.

Meal 7) 300 grams of Rump Steak, veg, 20 grams of Udos, 2 digestive tablets.

Meal 8) 50 grams of pro-pepitide, 20 grams of nuts, 20 grams of Udos 2x pro-biotics tablets.

The supplements I also use are Glutamine, Super Pump, Size On, BCAA, HMB, Myofusion, Pro-pepitide, Vitargo, Exceed, Udos, Pro-Vital...Vitamin tablet. Digestive tablets. I would like to thank my sponsors who helped me throughout 2009, Muscletalk, Myprotein and Udos. I look foward to continue working with them through 2010.

Hi Daz quick q for you mate

Inuries - Not full blown ones, but the little niggles people get, do you suffer from more than most due to the limit your body is working at? I know most people get iffy elbows/wrists/knees etc from training, just wondered if you get more than most?

Cheers,

S777

That is a lot Dazc - the portion sizes are big.  He is eating less volume than last year though as he's changed the macro ratios to more fat and less carbs.

honestly mate, im taking in as much protein, my meat portions are the same size or bigger, i have alot more carbs, though my fats arent quite as high, they arent far off!

and my weight is pretty much steady!  i would have expected a guy daz's size to be eating alot more than that!  was just suprised thats all, its obviously the right amount for him wasnt saying it wasnt!

closer to what i eat in terms of carbs!  though that diet is more volume than i could eat
the way the meals are spaced in the afternoon/evening makes it alot, but spread more evenly through the day, its not immense! the prebed meal is big in volume, and would take some eating, in fact i dont think i could, but overall, its not much different to what i have been eating!

Well that is a lot of food.  I just think that your perception of 'not alot' is skewed due to the fact that you eat so much.

well think i will say here its finding the right amount of food to do the job now with the food am eating at the min i cud do a show in 2weeks and be in great shape. the food last year still in good shape but weighed more we all no bb is about what u look like and not what u lift or how much you eat pal, thats have a look at your condition eating all that food and see if your holding lots of muscle or a lot of fat. Cus ok weighing 300lbs and then dieting to 220lbs you lose muscle i like to just take a little bit of weight off say 14lbs not going to lose so much muscle and not having to work so hard.

sorry mate, i think what i said was misunderstood!  I wasnt trying to say it was wrong in anyway.  It was honestly just suprise, i PRESUMED that you would be eating more than that, wrongly obviously!  Im not holding lots of either fat or muscle, sitting at 14 stone, about 6 weeks out from show condition based on this years cutting for leeds.

Hey Rich

Nice to have you on muscletalk, good to have someone with your experience and knowledge on the site.
Just to let you know everyone was saying how big you were looking too!!! lol

I think you and Daz should defo get together for a session as you would compliment each other, you lift the same kind of weight and your style of training is very similiar.

Anyway best of luck for 2010 whatever you plans are.

Helder

Tuesday 29th CHEST

Had a very good warm up then started with

Incline press set1 40kgs set2 60kgs set3 80kgs set4100kgs 10reps all other sets 12 to 15reps.

Incline flyes set1 10kgs set2 15kgs set3 20kgs set4 20kgs all 12reps

Chest press superset with Pec deck 4 sets all 10 and 10 chest felt bit sore on the chest press so just had 30kgs on pec deck all 40kgs.

Bench press set1 40kgs set2 50kgs set3 50kgs set4 60kgs all 12reps.

Arms

Standing dumbbell curls 4sets 30secs rest all 12reps 10kgs 15kgs 17.5kgs 20kgs

Seated dumbbell curls 4sets same as 10kgs 15kgs 15kgs 17.5kgs all12reps

Pec still sore so still taken time to build the weight up again they is many ways to train and all do work when am using lighter weights i work on the contraction and it does really get a deep burn. I will go back lifting heavy but on this type of workouts not on doggcrapp just think my body needs to be nice and warm and ready for the bigger weights and i will make sure am lifting the weight and working the muscles and not just thinking of moving the weight that was how i did my pec.
