Dext/Malto Substitute?
28 July 2011 22:26
( permalink)
Atm I have a scoop of Dextrose and Maltodextrin PWO, and all is well however... Its a type of sugar isnt it? Im getting to the stage where my teeth are starting to throb when Im having all these drinks, surely cant be good for em. Is there something better I can use that is A) not a sugar as such and B) is better quality anyway?

Vitargo is probably best as BB says . For a cheaper non sugar you could try waxy maizy starch , WMS.

Either of the options above will suffice, You could also probably try protein with a banana too if you like.

Or a few sweets, you'll surprised how much glucose is in a small portion.

jstarcarr wms is cornflour mate its well cheap I use it all the time No it's not. You are correct however that a lot of what is sold as WMS is cornflour but they are not the same mate - significant difference in the Amylopectin:Amylose ratio. WMS - 99.2:0.8 Maize Starch normal - 70:30 Maize Starch high amylose - 30:70 It's the amylopectin you are after not the amylose.
An Alterego is a paradoxical escape.

Vitargo, tasteless but does make the shake slightly thick. WMS, similar to corn flour but not the same, also tasteless with a tiny change to your shake consistency both recommended ime

The last three or four reps is what makes the muscle grow. This area of pain divides the champion from someone else who is not a champion.

James Have a read Thanks James, A good read. What would be your choice of carbs post workout if budget was not an option, and also, if it was?

If avoiding sugar try white rice or potato flower or even oat flow. in regards to muscle growth all will be effective with some protein. However if glycogen replenshment is the aim then they will not be as effective
Now official board rep for the below products. Feel free to PM me regarding any questions at all.
