Diazepan
-
03 January 2006 16:53
Hi, Happy New Year to you All... Has anyone taken Diazepan as a muscle relaxant? I injured my lower back about 3 weeks ago (cleaning the bathroom floor-unreal) and I am still experiencing pain. I went back to the doctors earlier and he asked me to try 5grms of this stuff per night for 5 nights. I probably only see the doc twice a year normally and he seems ok, takes his time. I've done a search and heard some horror stories about this stuff so I'm not keen but I am desperate to feel 100% again. What do you think? Am I ok to take this for this short duration? I am doing the ice, rest, osteopath as well etc... Cheers,

I had a lecture at uni about this once, just stick the normal dosage and it should be cool. Some people report having trouble getting to sleep after taking it though cos it makes it much easier to fall asleep.

A five day dosage seems fine, but I would not use them longer than that. They are addictable and my own gp would never give me any of the pan family. I still manage to get co proximal which I think are great and will still be available until atleast 2007

Iv just finished a 5 day course of this after my neck muscles seized up. I had some other pain in my shoulder from lifting which it got rid of aswell. i did have some sleeping problems though when i had finished the course.

Diazepam = valium, Ive never used it for that purpose but have used it recreationally many many times lol. Good stuff, I might have to go to the docs with your symptoms.

I used to prescribe diazepam frequently when working in A&E for acute back spasm associated with back pain, for which it is effective.

It is addictive though mate... Not seemly physically in my case but I got a couple of weeks worth when I have some anxiety problems and they worked like magic. But after I had ran out and had to deal without them, I had a deffinate urge to just pop another and I'd be feeling good again. Take the minimum does for required effect IMO.
