Diet Advice Please Thinking Of The ketosis Diet 23 January 2012 21:13 (permalink)
Hi i`m wondering if anyone could give me some advice on the above subject, What i want to know is what foods can you eat and also what you can drink, also i`m training by jogging doing around 25 miles per week will this slow down muscle repair or make training harder due to lack of carbs!!. Also what happens if you go off the diet for lets say a day does this then re train your body back to burning carbs

Cheers

Oggy

Read what was posted there, trial it for a while and see how you fair.  While Keto works for weight loss as an energy restricted diet, it's not a magical tool.  It's no more beneficial that any other energy restricted diet, it comes down to what's more optimal for any given person.

Such as me, Keto's not optimal for me as I lose a lot of strength when reducing carbs and get no satiety from fat and protein alone so I'm always hungry.  I never get past the tired and fatigued phase of the diet.

Others find Keto more optimal when it comes to hunger and don't feel fatigued with reduced carbs.

As for going off the diet you'll gain temporary weight back in the form of glycogen and water, but it could also take you out of ketosis having to go through the tired phase again. I don't follow up on ketosis so I'm not sure if people who follow it advocate carb up days.

You wont know until you try it.
