AK: I dunno how much is my head but my legs have certainly felt the weight the following week. It's not like I do much extra with the SLP but there you go. Paul: bloody hell. Yeah, mate, long time no see. How are things going for you? Where have you settled now? JJB has become DW now but I'm still there. Zach is growing up too fast, starts primary this year! And don't kid yourself, there's a reason I shave mine off, and that's it!

Yeah ages! Been a bit of a hectic year, settling down in london including 3 different jobs Training is back on track, with a good semblance of a diet for the first time in ages! Wrestling a little with a hip injury so legs are lagging some. I'm even starting some fitness courses soon. Decided i've pottered about in so many different jobs that i should try and make a career out of something i enjoy! Hopefully be posting a bit more again and who knows i may even resurrect the old journal!

Well I spoke too soon.... that dodgey stomache I thought I had got away lightly with - well it caught up with me Monday night. Proper 'eye of a needle' stuff. So I didn't train yesterday. Just when I was look for a full 4 weeks uninterrupted training. What made it worse was the heavy leg session plus the change in intensity on a couple of things meant I was aching anyway. Add to that dehydration, no nutrition being absorbed and very little being eaten I was really fcuking ached ALL day too. On the plus side, I feel MUCH better today, just hope 95 PP tomorrow. is still on the cards after the last 24hrs. Jedi: Cheers, mate. It's not all that bad not for 1 rep anyway Iain: Thank you too. (I'm not a proper gamer by any stretch). As for school. I left in '89.... yup 1989 Paul: 3 jobs.... 1's bad enough LOL. Be warned, unless you are really dedicated to the cause, the fitness industry is not the most fruitful. Good to here training is going ok, bar the injury that is, what is it? a genuine injury or just one of those training niggles that eventually has enough?

Nice tidy number the 140 SLDL, I have started using DB's for SLDL but used to use a normal bar and stand on 3 20kg plates to go really deep and may go back to that if my lower back agrees with me

Good to here training is going ok, bar the injury that is, what is it? a genuine injury or just one of those training niggles that eventually has enough? Yeah, there's going to be a lot of hard work and grafting over the next few years to make a good wage thats for sure. I'm not earning a great deal now so the job satisfaction is the main reason behind it all. As for the injury it's a bit of both i guess, tight left hamstring and piriformis have given my pelvis some grief. Had it seen to last year and it was fine for 6-7 months and my leg training was almost back to it's best. Then the hamstring seemed to "go" again. Can only blame myself for getting complacent with my stretching, thinking it'd healed. Have just invested in a foam roller which should help the recovery. Managed to deadlift again monday, very light, but now very sore! Good to hear you shifted the stomach bug, not being able to eat is never fun.

I've done similar in the past. Due to re-occurring back probs tho I no longer risk increasing my ROM that far. With a regular SLDL if my form deviates from perfect I'm still good, but that extra stretch and a last rep struggle can properly fcuk me up.

Those are some good lifts, especially with the CGBP. I'd struggle to lift that for 6 reps on with a normal bench press.

Cheers Krisby. Right, after being laid up 48 hours ago I wasn't expecting too much and I also played bball last night too but no excuses, lets get it on... DELTS BB Push Press: 5x40, 50, 2x60, 1x80 1x90 2x95 w/120 or so secs rest..... fcuking have it you sod! Not only did I nail the 95 for 2, they were a very good 2 also. Chuffed to bits with that, especially as I nearly failed the 1x90 LOL (got it all wrong). Didn't feel anthing like as heavy as it did a couple of months back when I couldn't get 1 past my ears. Strict OHP: 60x 10, 9, 9 w/90 or so secs rest..... solid work here. Just settled for the 1 rep increase Side Lat Raise: 10s for 1+6 sets of 11+10 reps w/30 secs rest..... good sets here altho I was chatting a bit which may have lengthened my rests TRIS Floor Press: 3x100, 110 for 5, 5, 5 then 11x90 w/90 secs rest..... no gain on paper but the sets were good. Last one still tough but not so much hip rising this time Dips: BW + 32.5kg for 12, 12, 12 w/90 secs rest.... up again, thought 12s would be tough but they were fine. Machine extensions: stack (65?) for 20, 16, 12, 8, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1..... there's one wrong somewhere cos I did 8 drops not 9. Good blast tho. usual roller and stretch to close. Just the 10mins cardio today - had things to do Finally pished on 95! Very happy with that and felt so much better in my hands than my last attempt. Solid session thru-out in fact. Considering how rough I was 2 days ago I really wasn't expecting anything like this today but felt good from the start - maybe it was just the extra rest this week. A quick vent on the home front - and do say if I'm over-reacting here - but my step-sons lazy arse behavious and attitude is starting to really bug me and I'm going to have to step up and lay down the law let me summerise: It's half term. He's not working cos he didn't realise until Wednesday before and the rota was done on Tuesday so he missed it Yeah right, what 17 yr old student in that unaware of their week off college until 2 days before the break! He's not got out of bed before mid-day all week so far. And on Tuesday he's day went 3pm: wake up and eat 5pm: try and cook fish fingers and chips but told not to by step-dad as it's only been 2 hrs 7pm: finally eat 9pm: back to bed asleep leaving all lights and TV on Get a fcuking grip boy, your mum works 10hr days, I work and train and look after zach all morning and you do sweet FA. He's gained so much weight recently that at 17 he now has purple stretch marks around his 38" waist. Argued the toss when asked to do 30 mins on our treadmill each day this week cos ' he doesnt wat to' Well I don't want to have to pay the bills for you to sit on your arse playing games and watching DVDs all day and it's not like 30mins a day will upset your plans and social life Things are going to change, I'm doing nothing more to support this behaviour and attitude and will now actively interefere with this way of life. Trip the fuse box, ban sh!t being on at 3 in the morning, chips etc will be replced with jacket pots...!!!

Blimey, have I been running this for a couple of years now. That might have been while I was getting a little 'assistance' - my CG always goes thru the roof when I do, almost identical to my bench work

Another early friday session. Feeling good today tho, after yesterdays high. BACK Deadlift: 5x70, 5x110, 2x150, 1x170, 1x190 2x205 then 5x150 & 5x120 explosive w/2mins or so rest..... Solid pulling here. Despite the bar jumping to the left between reps on my 205 it was good. Put the last of the drop sets up a tad too LPD: 87.5x 13, 12, 12 w/90 or so secs rest..... made myself do an extra rep this week, good sets here Seated Hammer Row: 95x 10, 10, 10 w/90 secs rest..... and finally got all teh 10s here too. Good sets followed by a quick blast set on 50 too. Pullover (Tri bar): 65-55 for 7 sets of 12 reps w/10 secs rest..... slight change, less rest so drop setted it essentially. All good Usual roller and stretch to close Just the 12mins of cardio today Pleased with todays work. Progression all round. The leg felt slightly tight but even on the pulling - I think it is getting there, slowly. I've notice the lighter weights really going up well ATM too, as if there is some power/speed getting in there now.

dirtyvest LOL.... I had hoped for a double but it wasn't to be. I'm on youtube somewhere doing 4 with 140 (or was it 6, I forget) altho not as deep as I go now, more parallel rather than ATG. Link to clip please Howdo DV. It's been a while since I last visited here. Are you currently au naturelle or is there any assistance on the go at the mo? That lad seems like a bit of an arse BTW and what he needs is a boot up his. Cheers anyway. What will really make my week is getting 2 on 95 when I PP tho.
I hope you're happy with achieving that. Roll on 2 plates.

Ahhh, Monsieur Fromage, always a pleasure. I not 100% the comp I'm on will get me far in YT.... search under my username and you should find it easy enough, I've only got about 6 vids posted. I'll try tho.... it's got the usual sh!t form comments LOL I am clean right now. Wasn't planning on it but with this dodgey ham I put it off for a bit. Hoping to get going any time soon TBH as it's been close to a year now. He does doesn't he, glad someone agrees (altho TBF even the Mrs sees my side of it too) I'm well chuffed mate, especially as it felt so nice. 100 is offically within sights now rather than always seeming unrealistic.

Hola matey! Congrats on the PP - finally! That third rep will feel even better Re: Stepson, it's a bugger, having a couple of step-parents myself I'm aware of the issues. My stepdad kicked my brother out at 18 for being nothing more than a teenage lad. Wasn't a nasty person, just abit lazy. However with my dad not being around and my mum didn't work at the time etc, I guess in hindsight he had little in the way of guidance or someone to seek advice off. My stepdad also has the parenting skills of mud. So, without any 'talking to, or forewarnings, he got kicked out. 9years on and he still hasn't forgiven them for the way he was treated [:/] Obviously I don't know what the lads like, but I'd recommend laying down the law as you said. It was around 16/17/18 when I began realising how much my parents did for me. Sit him down, explain the fundamentals of how much it costs to a run a house, to feed him, water, electricity. And tell him in simple terms what you expect in return. Be it helping out with babysitting, tidying a room, hoovering the house once a week etc. When I stay at my parents house I feel awkward if I wake up any later than 9am, even if I've got nothing planned for that day. There's just nothing worse for me than to be seen as lazy. Anyway, sorry for the rant, hope you get something sorted!

Hey No13: cheers for the feedback. I would never dream of booting him out unless he REALLY crossed a line, that would always be his mother's call. It's got to the point tho where even silly little things bug the hell out of both of us now - like this morning he asked what time I got up and was it snowing then to summerise it's been snowing for at least 3 hours then..... well it was already thick with snow when I woke up so how the hell does that gem on info help me in any way LOL OR running commentary on what the hamster is doing or where the cat's sleeping or what am watching on TV next saturday. He just needs to start getting some sort of life, as bad as that sounds. Right, on to more serious business LEGS Front Squats: 5x60, 80 3x:100, 2x120, 5x127.5 5x100, 5x80 then 5, 3, 4x60 low box w/120 or secs rest..... a very ugly 5th rep on 127.5 then decided to have a different deload structure this week. All good fun. Staggered Leg Press: I have decided to drop this. I like the lift tho so will chuck it in from time to time. As I have said tho, I just feel heavy on my FS since I started doing these. If the next few weeks are no better without it then I may bring it back. Leg Extension: 95 for 3+4 sets of 9+8 reps w/30 secs rest.... back to the normal stuff here after last weeks change. All good. SLDL: 140x 11, 10, 10 w/90 secs or so rest..... strong sets here, settled for just the 1 extra rep tho. Ham Curl: 65-45 for 7 sets of 10-7 reps w/30 secs rest..... bit up in the air here. Went back to the convetional style, heavier weight felt good at first but I soon realised I couldn't sustain it so kinda drop setted it. Calves Press: 65 (stack) for 7 sets of 20-16 reps w/30 secs rest..... most sets were up a rep or here. Good session Usual roller and stretch to close No time for cardio today as I had to run my cat to the vets (she's in again tomorrow too). Interestingly I have some aching behind my knees today but it was a respectable session. Well see how the next 3-4 wks fair but I had felt the SLP was hindering me, I could be wrong tho. I did stick in some extra FS deload work however. I also felt my dodgey ham today more than I have in a few weeks on leg day - fcuking thing!
