I just can't believe how much I struggle with 92.5 when I find 90 hard but certainly doable (and have done triple), I don't get it, can't carry the push thru to the press. The 1 rep today took some digging to get

Funnily enough the guy i was working in with on monday for my PP'ing was in the exact same situation with jerks.

Was doing 90 fine for singles, as soon as he went to 92.5 it's almost like he forgot how to do it and the weight wouldn't come off his chest!

Yeah, T0NY, I think I do have to attack the drive more, or time it better.... and stop being phased by it too!

DL day today, and what do I see plastered on the gym walls with no warning whatsoever.... "basically "calk is now forbidden".... not banned, forbidden, now that's just asking to be flouted and boy did I feel naughty LOL

              BACK

Deadlift: 5x70, 3x90, 1x 130, 170, 3x190,  then 12x110 w/2mins or so rest..... happy with the triples today, altho they were a little sore. Alternated the reps on the finish set with SLDL reps
LPD87.5x11, 11, 10 w/90 or so secs rest..... strong here, got an extra couple out
Seated Hammer Row: 90x 12, 11, 11 w/90 secs rest..... had a good blast on these too
Pullover (LPD bar): 65 for 6+1 sets of 12+10 reps w/30 secs rest..... dropped a bit at the end, concentrated on control a bit more this.

Usual roller and stretch to close.

Good session today, DLs weren't without a little soreness but only on the last set and more in the glute than the ham. Felt good on the rest too.

I will have to invest in some liquid chalk from now tho, can't believe they've banned regular chalk - tossers!

Do you feel that chalk helps you a lot or is it psychological?  BTW, what are you 1RM for bench, squat and deadlift?  With the help of some plyo' training you'd be flying, lol.  Plyo' is really hard though and need strong calves to avoid injury.

LOL I have the calves of a 10 year old girl guide

Chalk definately helps your grip, especially as I never use straps or alternating grip. Sweaty palms do not make bar gripping with heavy loads easy.

I've only recently had more of a strength approach so my PBs are poor, currents maxes even more so probably LOL

I've done 140 for a couple of reps bench before, never done a 1RM but 140 would be close I guess ATM. Only Front squat, have done 140 for reps and sets here at best no idea of a 1RM but ATM around 140 I would guess as I go a lot deeper than I used to. DL best is 230 for 3 but that's 10+ years old now, did 227.5 DOH and no straps/belt earlier this year. Back problems put work here on hold for quite some time.

Plan on kicking all these numbers into touch next year assuming injuries stay away.... but I will be training 'assisted' in the new year.

Congrats on the Deads Mighty Vest!

Can you not get away with Liquid chalk in your gym? I use it exclusively for deads and it leaves no trace on the bars.

Well, told my boy about the cat at the weekend. Obviously he didn't quite take it all in (or really pay much attention, which wound my Mrs up as it's her time of the month and they've dropped her meds resulting in her coming out with the immortal line "no, he's dead, Zach!" ). Anyway, after I buried the cat we told him and he thinks he's in the sky looking after other cats who have died now. Keep getting a lump in my throat everytime he asks to go outside to see Loki, has a look at his grave then calls up to the sky for him... bless his little heart.

Nothing else from the weekend to report, ham/glute aches a little but I don't think it's as bad seems less in the belly of the ham now and more over the hip/glute. No sign of my liquid chalk today and SLDLs were on the menu so had to be sly despite one girl coming over looking for it!!!

                          LEGS

Front Squats: 5x60, 80 1x:90, 100, 120, 127.5, 2x135  then 11x85w/120 or secs rest..... steadier reps on the build up this week. A better 135x2, but still tough and felt the glute/hip/ham pull in this one a bit. Got an extra rep on the blast set, using a low stepper again.
Leg Extensions: 95 x 4+3 sets of 11+0 reps w/30 secs rest.... might have been 3+4, either way, a few sets of 11 is a progression, tough going tho.

Ham Curl: 55x 12, 12, 10 w/90 secs or so rest..... stuck with this more upright, 2 leg position, didn't pull the hip even tho I couldn't pull my foot right into my bum, kinda highlights how much hip leverage one might get on laying curls actually. Good sets tho.
SDDL: 85 for 7 sets of 8 reps w/30 secs rest..... up 5kg, last couple of sets are murder, especially as you can start to feel yourself losing form if you aren't careful, all good tho, this week

                          Seated Calves:
                          55kg for 2+5 sets of 12+11 reps w/30 secs rest.....ouchie.

usual stretch and roller to finish

Good little session today. As I was driving to work still I did 10min on a x-trainer at the end too

Got my liquid chalk today, seemed pretty good actually altho today was pressing, Fridays DLs will tell the real truth..... on with the session tho

                            CHEST

Bench Press: 5x60, 80, 1x90, 100, 120, 127.5, 2x135  then 105x12 w/120 or so secs rest..... last time I failed the 2nd resp, this week, properly nailed it, it was tough but both reps were solid. Chuffed to bits with that. Alas I didn't make 13 on the blast set tho.
Incline Press, DBs: 45sx11, 10, 10 w/90 or so secs rest..... 1 rep up but had to work very hard to get 10 on the last
X over Flyes: 45 for 7 sets of 11 w/30 secs rest.....stuck with the same as last week as I struggled to finish them, this week was a better showing.

                            BICEPS

EZ Bar Curls: bar+ 40x11, 9, 7 w/90 or so secs rest..... reps down but form was up, no pausing at all between reps, properly pumped them out which cost me.
Rope, Hammer: 25 for 7 sets of 8 reps w/30 secs rest..... different pulley, cable in each hand, standing. Good sets tho, will stick with these for a few weeks now.

usual roller and stretch to finish.

Would you Adam and Eve it, BP progressed AGAIN. Very happy, really solid reps even tho I did work for them.

Weight yesterday was still on 15'11 BTW

Glute/hip still achey but going to town with ice and Ibu ATM. Next week the gym is shut on DL day so there'll be some extra rest then but I think I need to get this physio'ed again.

Trying to research into dogs, what a minefield, but our plan next year is to get a small dog to replace our cat. More concerned about getting something that's right for the dog more than us....

Nice stuff over the last two days, especially the benching!

How far away from 140 do you reckon you are? Don't say 5kg either LOL.

                                    Cheers fellaz:

AK: good Q, do I think I could mustre a single out on 140?..... I might but it would be tough, but TBH if I can do 2 on 135 there should be a single 140 in me theoretically

No13: I do LOL.... don't know fully. 1st stop will be the shelters, just cos I think it's the right thing to do. Mrs is edging towards the shihtsu/yorkie side of things but when the time is right I'll see what's about and what we like/can look after.

iain: message read and understood. This week 92.5 will get done for 2, no excuses

When I was FSing yesterday, I held the bar (with 100+) in a PP grip just for a walk-out... fcuk knows how anyone can get that overhead LOL.

I've just spent so long doing EVERYTHING like a BBer that it's awkward to change up like that
