Do Pins and Barrels have a used by date? 04 November 2009 12:36 (permalink)
Not sure if this is a silly question but my friend told me this.  I had a box of unopened pins and barrels from 2 years ago.  They have been kept in my garage and the box itself was a little damp.  The packets are still sealed, but I am wondering if they will still be safe to use?

I wouldn't use if they've been exposed to dampness. And to answer your question, yes there is a use by date.

I would imagine its many years though so dont worry about using some from last year for example.

Get new ones, is it worth risking contamination?

The pins are going to be entering your body, being sterile is the most important thing.

          I wouldn't risk it

I never seem to have then long enough to go out of date.
