Do bananas make you cough?

Lol, ok....this may come off as REALLY weird, but here goes. I have noticed (for some time now) that whenever I eat banana's I tend to cough. It is mostly really yellow bananas and it is not like a choking cough or anything.....more like a cold air in your lungs kind of cough (if that makes sense). Everybody will probably just laugh at me But I was just curious if anybody else has ever experienced this.....or maybe heard of a reason why it happens?

I'm not laughing, but that is strange. It takes me about 5 minutes to eat one though, I gag a lot lol.

It only takes one to make me cough. But like I said....it's not a "choking" cough. And definitely not a "disgusted" cough. I love bananas. Dammit....this is frustrating....lol. Have you ever ran in the cold weather? And you get this deep feeling in your lungs and throat where you just HAVE to cough? I think that is the closest thing to what I am feeling.

It's a shame so many people have joked about this when

I am assuming that during these coughing bouts your body arches in to a cough with a radial angle of around that of a banana? You will also notice I am sure that at the time of coughing your skin will take on a jaundice colour and you have to hold your arms by your side yes?

Could you be allergic to them, is that possible?

Well, I have been doing a bit of searching via google.....apparently and VERY ironically.....bananas are supposed to SUPRESS a cough. LOL!!! Do you think it could be an allergic reaction? It's not a heavy cough....more of a light and quiet one that lasts for about 10-15 minutes after eating a yellow banana.

As far as the "bit of wood"....I was quoting Shaun of the Dead....come on cu3ed, don't dissppoint

I don't get the cough when I eat the green ones. It is ONLY with the really sweet yellow ones....

Don't get me wrong, I really do not mind the cough. It only lasts a little while and isn't serious. I was just curious if anybody else had ever experienced this. Obviously not....lol

I think its possibly got sommin to do with the sweetness.

And I think they only help with coughs as the help reduce or control stomache acid or sommin.
