I was working in Cov during the summer and there was a lad on site who did some lifting which we chatted about on occasions.
He was bigger than me slightly...about 16 stone I guess he was.
One day we got talking about his deadlift and he told me due to the amount he was lifting, it would be silly to continue deads without a belt. I asked him what he was lifting to which he replied (with a very proud , if not smug expression) "3 plates a side".....I said....."what? 20kg plates"....he said....."yeah".
He was impressed by 140kg and there was no way I was gonna tell him my deadlift as he'd never have believed me.
I guess my point is, is that to me, he looked like he could shift a sh1t load more than he could but I guess I looked to him like I couldn't match his lift so I suppose it doesn't matter what the fcuk others think.
I just thought I actually looked (at the tiime) like I could shift 220kg+.....but to some, apparently not
