Unfortunately, I think crime does pay very well for some ! I know blokes that serve their prison time almost happily, accepting that they are doing the time to "earn" the money they have accumulated. The clever part (in their eyes) is the laundering of the money they make & avoiding losing it as proceeds of crime - this makes my blood boil a tad as I know another bloke who worked all his life , then started growing cannabis for himself and his mates , and ended up losing his house (as proceeds of crime) ....Despite the fact he has spent 80 hours a week to pay for the house !

id say crime pays for lots of people, but lots more get nicked and arent good at it. im glad no one in this said has mentioned karma yet, always see people say that when someones been wronged 'ohh im sorry but karma will get them in the end'. sadly this isnt true. or when someone dies 'at least theyre in heaven now' - again...its a nice sentiment but just not true. im sorry your stuff got stolen, hopefully some good luck comes your way to make up for this. thankfully ive never had anything of value stolen from me so cant imagine what its like

If you have the serial number report the bike. My dad's got nicked and then a few months later was seized from a large warehouse in Wales. Policeman drove all the way down to London to deliver it! There are the street criminals making a little from it but the dealers who hold onto them for a while/send them abroad will be making the most.

it does pay for little work. but ill refer back to a previous post someone made-only for a while. inevitably u will get caught, it doesnt matter how careful u r, intelligent, every criminal becomes complaicent or the cops get lucky with statements etc.

The simple answer is yes. I know a couple of lads who are loaded, they choose only to deal with other criminals, never innocent people... I don't like what they do but when you see how well off they are you can understand why they do it, they both have full time jobs as well. I sort of wish I took up there offer when they asked me, their lifestyle sounds alot better than mine.

Wheels EDBANGER Probably worth the 8 years in jail. Nope, I don't think so at all. You wouldn't do 8 years in exchange for £290 million?? I'm hoping that a bit of good luck will come my way as a result but I'm not holding my breathe. A friend of mine was also burgled the other night whilst he and his Mrs slept in the flat. They took phones, laptop and purse. I can't decide whether they were better off not waking up and catching them at it?

I personally couldnt live like that. The rewards are high but so is the price. For example, how long is it until that guy Goldfinger gets shot, cut up and burned by someone whos life savings hes ripped off~or a criminal hes ripped off~how would you like to look over your shoulder all the time from everyone waiting to catch you out.I panic when I get a letter from the inland revenue lol let alone knowing theres people out there wanting me dead. These days you can get someone killed for not much if you look hard enough. I know of a few villains and its generally the things like cars/houses that catch them out.Eg,one guy bought a stolen (off delivery truck) brand new RR Sport (in gangster white). Not too noticeable then. When cops nicked him they went and raided his house and bust him for a big supply rap as well.Stupid.Its like the small time crims who live at home with their mum and drive a £50k Porsche. Not long before the IR get hold of them either.Look at Kenneth Noye,I mean he was living the high life and then had road rage and now he will never be released-wtf? how stupid is that. I tend to believe in karma. From an experience of being cheated out of a lot of money by my own sister it does comfort somewhat to think what goes around comes around. OLI

Watched a really interesting programme about the great train robbery, turns out if the place they met up at after was "cleaned" properly then they would of got away with it.As it turns out they all got caught but even then, none of the money was recovered. OLI

My Dad was chatting to a bloke who said he was making around £12,000 a month growing cannibis, he did this for about 6 months, then got caught, and got a £50,000 fine. I know a bloke who has been selling weed for around 10 years, he's easily a millionaire (although you'd never know it, he looks like a typical chav, and doesn't buy anything flash). The police know all about him and have done for years... - he's been in the doc a few times, but he's never really been caught for much, - he's had a couple of run-in's/scare-moments with rival gangs - his place got raided by them a couple of times, he was threatened and his face got cut by them, but they never found any of his money or drugs. He seems to continue to operate in relative peace, maybe the odd police raid 2/3 times a year. Locally, he only ever for a drink in the local british legion where no-one really knows him, he can't go out in most bars and clubs around the area as it's too dangerous for him. He seems happy enough, stoned 24/7, always has lots of people hanging around his place, he goes on some fantastic holidays, but his main buzz in life seems to be making money, - he just loves making money, weird, as he doesn't seem to do anything much with it!

EDBANGER You wouldn't do 8 years in exchange for £290 million?? It's never quite that simple, and even if it was I'd still not think it was a good deal. Might be a bit more tempting if your struggling financially etc. of course.
