Driven Sports Craze - PreWorkout Review 08 February 2012 10:53 (permalink)

Taste
- Not to bad (to my knowledge only flavour available atm is Grape) tastes as good as your gonna ever find a grape tasting preworkout imo lol, simlair to USP Jack3d in grape, for those that have tryed that. Chemical aftertaste at the bottom but yeah, drinkable
3/5

Mixability - Mixs perfectly and almost instantly. No real carbs in the mix to make it clump or anything. Not much more i can say here. 1 scoop in 200ml water mixs fine, everytime
5/5

Useage -  Having tryed 2 samples of this a few months back (posted the sample review allready) i was really looking forward to getting a tub of this stuff to call my own and run, over a consistent period of time. Now, what i can say is, despite all the hype around the product for the most part, Craze does live up to your expectations BUT i must stress, dont expect like "steroid like" workouts, or "feeling like the god of war" in the gym kinda feel you know
Anyways... i allways would start with 1 scoop to asses tolerance (when using a new kinda preworkout, or atleast one ive never used to before aka based around the stimulant part) Craze claims to be 1/3dimeth free, and use a patented form of PEA aswell as another form of stimulant, of which ive yet to see any other preworkout using...thus far. It also has a small ammount of caffeine per scoop, but i wouldnt go as far as to say this is stim heavy at all, on the contrary, this pre takes a bit longer to kick in/get working, and its not like a sudden rush of energy like you get off most preworkouts. Id like to say it kinda "slowly flips a few switchs" the most notable being, an increased sense of focus/awareness, and the closest feeling ive got to this is 2 scoops of the new Controled Labs Whiteflood.

Now, in terms of performance...cant fault it really. It gives good all round effects, i constantly feel i can push out more reps, and feel confidient and sometimes, too relaxed lol going to break new PB records. Its 2nd to none for its Endurance side of things, as it appears to have a decent ammount of Betaine (strength) and citruline malate (endurance) in its blend. It also gives a fairly decent pump, even at 1 scoop, however this did start to die down slightly at times (showing that aallthought its not in your face, the stim side of things obvs does affect some of the vasodilatery aspects of the citruline i should think)

Overal i dont have much to pick fault in this product. It works out at good value, tolerance has stayed the same, and ive been at 1 scoop for about 20/25workouts now, so a tub proves to be good value if your not a stim junkie, or hamering away at 2/3 scoops expecting a jack3d/1mr style rush for an hour then a crash afterwards. Ive not experinced no crashing from Craze, just a nice relaxed sense of wellbeing walking back from the gym, and tieing down at home in the evening.

The only true negative i can say is, when i have increased to 1 and a half scoops (2 leg days wanting to really push myself) ive ended up getting next to no sleep...which ive also seen quite a few people complain of. So my advice, is to stick at 1 scoop for the duration, perhaps by the end if you really have to up the scoops slightly, but you have been warned about the sleep issue!

I wouldnt say this product is perfect (nothing in life ever is) but if your after something a little bit diffrent, not stim/crash like heavy, a good allrounder, i can highly reccomend Craze.

4/5

Great review Liam! You always get in depth and put mine to shame but i am love reading them!! You and Redwing are my goto guys when it comes to wanting a new product!!!

The only thing i would say is for me it is the perfect product!! Although i am using scoop and a half it is more out of greed than necessity. I take mine at 6.30am so sleep isnt an issue the only downside is it makes me sooooo dehydrated but easily sorted!

Appreciated for the comments m8, and if it wasnt for you i probably would never of got to try Craze anyways :P

Thats a good point you touched on...come to think about it..often i would feel "dehdrated" coming towards the end of a workout and go through alot more water when running Craze;having said that im also running creatine mono again atm, so perhaps it could be 1 thing or the other but a good point nevertheless.

If the sleep issue wasnt there, and you got a bit more energy from the product id say a defo 5/5, but in comparison to alot of preworkouts out there, id still say its my top 5 of what ive used over the past 3 years ive been training.

How much did you end up taking in the end Fx2050? I found 2 scoops too much, 1 and 1/3 to 1 and half was the sweetspot for me.

I'll now jump on the Craze bandwagon too as i've just got some myself following all the positive feedback and i must say i agree with the majority of the above.

Its not a stim crazy feel at all, its just seems to be a steady build up of energy that makes you just want to keep working out. I like this much better than say jackd as i'm quite sensitive to stims and didn't like the jittery feeling much, so personally for me this is about right (1 to 1.5 scoops).

The Taste wasn't great but nor was it awful and as you are throwing it down your gullet in one go and not pausing to appreciate the year, texture or full bodied aroma its absoltuely fine.

so its a constant stim and just fades away i.e. no crash? any aggression? i get that off a couple pre wo's, not good!

reflex perf matrix non caffeine is good too for steady yet subtle energy/focus but my tolerance has grown and want to try something new.

Id say Craze is a slow burning energy, good focus and endurance. However, unlike most typical stim based preworkouts, this will not have you flying off the walls, wanting to throw weights around and buzz you. That being said, i do get a good mellow, sometimes confident feeling on this. Deffently aids in performance, i dont have 1 bad word to say of it, when comes to that.

The sides i encountered throughout the tub, a few other guys have hit on however...namely, apperite suppresion and occasional sleep issues.

Aside from that i really like it, and will buy a tub again in the not to distant future i should imagine!

Its nowhere near the level of buzz/energy of Rage, so dont expect that, what i can say is you will get silly ammounts of endurance;literally youll feel your doing nothing but could go on for hours and hours of weights/cardio you name it! The focus is very good, and a half decent pump, ill just stress, dont expect a mass energy/surge buzz from Craze, as youll be disapointed otherwise!

I don't really rate Rage, haven't felt any positive effects from it for my workouts. Sometimes makes me feel abit sick and light headed but think that's due to me training early so not much food in me. Sweat like anything on it tho!
May have to up it to 2 scoops.
I like it that you don't get a crash with Craze after as I've gotta work all night a few hours after training.

Well, i've been holding back reviewing Craze as I wanted to see if my first positive impressions lasted, and, more importantly that Craze didn't rapidly fade like Jack3d (etc) does. To cut a long story short it did, and it doesn't. Oh, and props to Liam86 - your review is spot on.

So...I don't know where to start? I've tried writing this so many times - should I say what i've tried, should I debate the specious benefit of 'pump' products, the insane 'kick' of hardcore stims like Razor8 Blast, etc, etc? Erm, well, no, i'll simply say that Craze is better than all of them. End of story.

Why? Well, that's not easy to answer. Heavy stim-based pre's (like my last - Razor8 Blast) are like a caffeinated baseball bat around the head (pre-loading and subsequent crash). And 'pump' is an arginine-based myth.

That's what's curious about Craze. First that the name is wrong. Take a scoop and, well, nothing. Maybe a little mood-lift, but nothing overt. So, I start with light resistance/cardio (rowing machine). I usually aim for 3km as a pre-workout warm-up, and sometimes it can be a slog. I hit 3km without knowing it, and not only is it easy but i'm really enjoying it. 4km or 5km and I have to stop myself and hit the weights.

I don't have the 'fake' energy surge of caffeine or DMAA, what I have is desire, drive and yes 'love'. Sounds mad, try it! Sort of reminds me of my mis-spent youth, and more precisely E (ecstasy). No, honestly. And it lasts, for hours, with zero crash. And, yes, tell yourself that you don't need to eat, and you won't.

No idea how it does what it does, just glad that it does.

PS: Thanks to Bodybuilding Warehouse for their service and their amazing P&P.

No problem Killa, and i know what you mean about that hard to describe "feeling" LOL when alls said and done, like most things it was, and does get overhyped ALOT, but it is effective and what it does, and aslong as your not expecting miracles, and or rediclous ammounts of fake energy, then you cant really go wrong with this preworkout.
