Katana's are a bitch. I used one for 2 months and never got anything to touch!! I was even trying to put the shirt on 'less jacked'. Cloest I got was 210 to a 1 board position. Plus it killed my elbows. Just didn't have the no how to use it!

Thank God it's not just me being retarded about my SK and overly nostalgic about the F6!

      Friday 10th February - PM

      Bench Press (raw) - 20kg x 5, 40kg x 5, 60kg x 3, 80kg x 3, 100kg x 2,

      120kg/264lbs x 1
      130kg/286lbs x 1

      Partial Squats 7th Hole Down (briefs/belt) - 100kg x 3, 180kg x 3, 230kg x 1

      280kg/616lbs x 1
      330kg726lbs x 1 PR!

      RDL (raw) - 60kg x 5, 100kg x 3, 140kg x 3

      160kg/352lbs x 3
      180kg/396lbs x 3

Benches were pretty rough, but well considering yesterdays 220k and this mornings press that's not too bad. Very happy with the Partial Squats and looking forward to taking that height down like I did with 300k. RDLs were totally raw and probably a raw PR.

Day off tomorrow and my training week starts on Sunday.

        Lovely session there mate.
So with the partial squats do you gradually lower the pins each week until your at your normal squat depth with a greater weight? Is that right?

Yeah, that's right. Originally it started off as a way to get used to the weight on my back again, after I had a bit of a lay-off from the heavy stuff. But I grew to like them, so I've toyed with this idea of working the weight down the rack. I only use three positions as the bottom position is awkward enough to squeeze into when I'm wearing gear. It's not parallel, probably halfway to parallel, but it seems to help. I made a relatively easy 260k Squat at the last Comp and partial squatted 280 off the lowest of the three positions I use the week before, so i'm hoping I can work this 330k down by the time April comes around and get some carryover.

                Sunday 12th February - PM

                Bench Press (raw) - 20kg x 20, 40kg x 5, 60kg x 3, 80kg x 3, 100kg x 2, 120kg x 1

                Bench Press (Slingshot) -

                140kg/308lbs x 1
                160kg/352lbs x 1
                170kg/374lbs x 1
                180kg/396lbs x 1 forced rep
                180kg/396lbs x 1 forced rep

Good, The forced reps were slight touches, I wanted it clean on the second attempt but still wasn't to be today but I'll consider this progress as my benching has sucked recently in the slingshot. The last time I hit a clean 180 was more than a month ago and since then It's been up and down. I feel like I'm back on track, 180k and more should go soon.

                Bent Row (raw) - 60kg x 3, 100kg x 3

                122.5kg/270lbs x 3 PR!

Not much to say about these, relatively new and they're moving up.

                  Press off Rack - 20kg x 6, 6, 40kg x 3, 60kg x 2

                  70kg/154lbs x 1
                  72.5kg/160lbs x 1 PR?
                  75kg/165lbs x 1 PR?

Good morning session, I felt surprisingly fresh considering the pressing yesterday. Not sure if that is a PR, I hardly ever press standing up and I can't recall doing more in recent times so whatever. Squats and Partial Deads later.

                    Monday 13th February - PM

                    Squat (raw) - 20kg x 10, 10, 60kg x 5, 100kg x 3, 140kg x 1

                    (suit straps down/belt) - 180kg/396lbs x 1, 220kg/484lbs x 1

                    (suit straps up/belt/wraps) - 265kg/583lbs x 1 forced rep

Actually not too worried about this. My form was spot on, depth was good and I came up out of the hole but stalled halfway up. I just didn't have enough to finish and had to get a touch to move it up. I would be pissed if I had lost the rep to bad form or not concentrating, but this I can live with. I'll get it soon.

                    Partial Deadlift 15inch (suit/belt) - 100kg x 3, 180kg x 3,

                    230kg/506lbs x 1
                    280kg/616lbs x 1 PR!

                        Tuesday 14th February - PM

                        160kg/352lbs x 1 PR!

That's 180kg-ish at the top, including band weight. Well chuffed with that.

                        Squats (raw) - 20kg x 12, 12, 60kg x 3, 100kg x 3, 145kg x 1

Most I've squatted without gear in about 8 months! I'm still in one piece hurrah!

                                Arched GMs with Blue Bands (raw) - 20kg x 10, 60kg x 3, 100kg x 3

                                140kg/308lbs x 3
                                160kg/352lbs x 1

                                220kgish at the top there

                                3inch Deads, conventional (raw) - 60kg x 3, 100kg x 3,

                                140kg/308lbs x 1
                                180kg/396lbs x 1

Went totally raw today, as is the plan to get a little more raw work done across the week. Felt good, I kept well within myself as I'm only just starting to get back into raw work since last summer. Hopefully this should mean good injury prevention and carryover for the geared work.

So I would be pretty disappointed if a suit for all intents and purposes only gave me about 20-30kg! Maybe I will get a Leviathan...LOL

Yeah, it's not brilliant but it's a start. The way I look at it is that it's a learning experience. You see it's not that the suit only gives 20-30kg, it's the fact that we as lifters need to become strong enough to use the suit effectively. Firstly the suit will throw your form way off, secondly you'll need to build up the strength to actually support more than 40kg over your raw squat and thirdly you'll need to build up the strength to overcome the suit so you can squat properly; like anything in the gym it takes time to get stronger. From what I've read about the Leviathon these problems would be even more problematic and further prevent higher numbers. You'd need to be even stronger to overcome the suit, even stronger to get a weight down to the right depth etc etc you get the idea. It's the strength of the suit/shirt that both prevents higher numbers when you start and gives higher numbers when you finally get it. Stronger gear inevitably takes longer and gives more.

I'd definitely recommend the lighter gear to get started with, Centurion and probably an F6/Fury in terms of a shirt.

By the way, what/who is that in your signature line there?

Oh dear I completely forgot to reply to this post, how rude!

Cheers mate very informative. I am itching to try my hand at some equipped lifting but I will have to sort out my elbow problems before I even think about it.

Oh and you know that Ibuleve stuff you mentioned in my journal? Is that basically just ibuprofen in gel form? I picked up something similar today, it's not called Ibuleve though, but it's basically just ibuprofen in the form of a topical gel.

How rude! lol. Yeah CK, it's basically just ibuprofen in a gel, I'm sure the stuff you've got is the same sort of thing.

                                        Thursday 16th February - PM

                                        Bench Press (raw) - 20kg x 10, 10, 40kg x 3, 60kg x 3, 80kg x 3, 100kg x 1, 120kg x 1

                                        3 Board (F6) -

                                        140kg/308lbs x 1
                                        160kg/352lbs x 1
                                        180kg/396lbs x 1

Cool, breaking in the new shirt. It's MUCH nicer to handle than the SK. I'll drop down to a 2Board next time.

                                        Power/Dynamic Shrugs - 60kg x 3, 100kg x 3, 140kg x 3, 180kg x 3

                                        210kg/462lbs x 3
                                        240kg/528lbs x 3 PR!

By April I should be able to work that 180 down the boards and be pausing that, if not a little more. With some improvements to the Squat/Deadlift I figure if I can pull off a 270/180/270 for 720kg at the April Meet I should be placing well. This will probably be in the 100's, although I am dieting now I might not make it down to the 90s for April.
