Awe, thnx everyone!

If I'm honest, I do think so too... about the figure vs physique.
I just kinda want to know what to practice, plus there's soOo many doing figure, and that I know now, don't wana be lonley stood up there doing physique!
I guess I just keep practising quarter turns and being able to hold positions.

Not gonna think about it/ worry about it now, I've got my consistency title to maintain!

I can understand where Annie is coming from on the BNBF forum BUT I feel you need to get more confidence in yourself for the stage and know what you're aiming for.  A physique competitor who is a little soft but with good shape looks better than a figure one in the same light..............NOT that you need to worry about that, keep putting in the work and you'll look good whatever my friend . Let's give it another month and see how you feel but at least practise the quarter turns as you know they'll be the same whichever you do.

Re:Figure Contestant Wanabe - 26 April 2010 22:41
AM: 45mins stairmaster L9
PM: Shoulders and Tris, good session, got up to 7kg on my lying side raises and managed DB skull crushers, only up to 8kg and assisted self on last couple, but could feel Tris-ceps working hard, and 45mins stairmaster L9.
Got a trainer in gym to watch me on 1/4turns, very productive she poited out that if I turn my forearms in toward my body it flattens my back/ scapula out! Kule! Only thing is then backs of hands are toward judges and Annie said yesterday not to? It's a starting point and progress anyway.
Worried about weigh in all ready! Feeling slim still but I've never had consistant weight loss like past couple of weeks so to do it for a 3rd would be unreal, but I am, literally, working my arse off on the stairmaster and sticking to the diet, so there is no reason why it shouldn't continue to yeild results.

Stick to the plan especially now the diet has now tightened up and you should still lose this week. Have you ever been as consistant with the diet?

Good going on the stairmaster......

If you stick with the diet this week, you will have NOTHING to worry about come weigh in day... So unless you're doing something you shouldn't be, you have NOTHING to worry about...

Personally, I'd practise the Physique poses, because there's more to get the grasp of, and if you did end up doing Figure, most can be adapted for that anyway... But if you really don't know any of the compulsories, it makes it A LOT harder sussing out what poses to do for your t-walk... Make sense?

Good point Flick

Consistency is the key in this game. If you so much as sniff chocolate and don't lose weight you will beat yourself up over that one thing and end up having a real downer on yourself and we all know where that can lead. Believe me it's much more pleasurable knowing you've stuck to it and succeeded and if you don't happen to that week then you know you can't be blamed and it's time to tighten up yet again

Re:Figure Contestant Wanabe - 28 April 2010 22:39
Ahh, t'was a good one tonight! Was out cold!

Excellent leg session tonight!
I was so knackered finishing work I thougt I'd have to reduce all my weights
BUT...
Did PB on barbell lunges, warmed up on leg press with 50x12, 100x10, 150x8 and then lunges did; 5x12, 10x10, 15x8 (all on olympic bar).
Then SLDL, god I LOVE them, they bloody hurt, but in EXACTLY the right spot! (10kg DB in each hand x 3sets of 20)
To finish sumo squats 24kgx12, 26kgx10, 28kgx8 and 3sets of 50kg calf raises on the leg press machine....
....And of course 45mins on the stairmaster!

AAAaaRRRRrGGGGggHHHhh...
...only 3 eggs left!!??!!
So have scrambled them (EDIT: 2 whites+1whole), soaked my oats and added 1/2 scoop proteinpowder (choc+vanilla mix), mixed the two together!
MMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmm, like protein/ diet bread & butter/ oaty pudding type thing! Mark doesn't agree, lol!!

It's amazing how good simple things and strange things taste when you're diet is restricted

I'm presuming that's 15kg AND the bar which would make it a total of 35kg? If that's the case then that's much better, well done....if not keep working at it and you'll get there.

Morning HIFI.....you'll prolly have a great workout tonight cos you missed last night!...that's what happens with me usually...all that pent up grrrrrrrrrr.....lolol...I was looking at my calves last night...they're fairly well defined if I stand on my toes and tense them but otherwise theyjust look like errrm...ermm...fat .....lol......i can't do many reps with calves...they really seem to hurt quickly...I do sets of about 20-25, (4 sets)...and I literally hve to stand there stretching them for a bout 5 mins before i can even move!!!....durrrrr.....

Have a great weekend...enjoy and hope you don't have to work  Monday so you can relax a bit....x

Still try to keep the cardio sessions in, even if you slightly reduce the time. Stepping up and down on the bottom stairs/a make shift step (or even a chair) at home will suffice better than nothing (only in emergencies  as long as you're moving. I was doing cardio and finishing 30mins before going to bed last year and in that 30mins I was having supper!!
