It was *fabby* nice to put a face to the name, you've got a cracking figure kels!

Defo got my RRRrrrrrrrAAAAaaaaaaaaaHHHHHHhhh turbo charged!
Had a bit of a weird day today, never made it to gym made a few too many appointments for myself with day off, but did stick to diet and am all prepped for week ready to ZooomChooChoo!

One of my appointments was with Physio, he's given me some rehab excercises for back, my left, erm, just under my shoulder blade's not firing properly, so my shoulder is compensating. Basically I just have to concentrate on keeping the shoulder down and drawing it back and contracting the Lat before I bring the arm back, just like backafter16years mentioned in another thread. Lohani told me off at the seminar last year for using my traps too much in my shoulder WO, so I must still be careful of that too.

Kitty was amazing at the w/e and gave me some faulous posing practice/ pointers, and as a few have commented, one of my figures strong points are my lats, and I have a nice shaped bum too!!

xx

Glad to see you're still chuckling away missy! Hopefully Kitty gave you enough pointers r.e. diet.

Isn't it funny we all see bits of us in you (thinking about what Kitty said to you on Sunday). I see my frame of mind like yours - well mine was, then my magic man fixed me and now I think I'm the mutt's nuts tee hee! ;-)

Re:Figure Contestant Wanabe - 23 March 2010 22:57
Yes, kitty was a complete star.

So day one of all my new found knowledge and advice, great day!

5.45am Pre-Cardio espresso, then 40min powerwalk as it was such a gorgeous morning, cold but gorgeous, the bunny wabbits and a fox were out and a very picturesq mist across the river, but no time for photos ops I was on a mission!
Meal1: 7am – 5 egg whites+1whole egg scrambled & 35g oats made with water with splenda, cinamen and mixed spice. Eggs are ok kinda cold at gym but the oats were foul, lol! So gonna take dry tomorrow and get some hotwater from bar to hydrate there.
Meal2: 10am – 70g cooked weight brown rice & 85g chicken + tesco magic grinder aka garlic grinder, it’s magic it makes everything taste better! Altho not sure about the oats this am!?!
Meal3: same as 2
Meal4: same as 2/3 + salad, broccoli, corgette and green beans LOTS of magic grinder! Posted pic on FB as I thought it looked particularly good!
Meal5: AAAAaaaRRRrrrGGgggggHHHhhh, I mis-counted my meals! Luckily I had a maximuscle bar in my bag, 18g protein & carbs so ok, but not the plan; more chicken and rice and. ... you guessed it magic grinder! Have just made these up for rest of week.
Meal6:  bit of a late one as mark arrived home same time so he delayed me wanting to chat, GGgggRRrrr, after WO had 1 scoop ProRecover MMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmm, OMYGOD!!!! How do CNP make all their products SOOOOOooooooOOOO tasty??!!?? Back home after shower have just had meal 1 but blended together and cooked like an omletty-pancake with a lime squeezed over the top and some splenda, tasty! I don’t like having a classic dinner type meal so late, feel fine to lie down and get to sleep now, just finishing my pukka night time T.

Legs tonight: (kg’s)
Static lunges with barbell: barx12, 5x10, 10x8
Leg Press: low+narrow: 50x12, 100x10, 150x8
Sumo squats: 20x12, 24x10, 26x8
DB Stiff Deads: 10 each hand x 20
Calf raises: 50 x 20
20mins stairmaster fat burning prog L8 + 20mins treadmill 5% inc. 5.5km/p/hr

Phew!

Lets do it all again tomorrow!

Sounds like a lovely place you're walking, makes it so much easier to get out of bed when you know there's something nice to look at rather than 4 walls and other equipment!!
Get cooking and chatting at the same time...your food is more important  (show Mark this )

Re:Figure Contestant Wanabe - 24 March 2010 22:25
Mmm, parks great, I don't actualli wear my headphones I like the peace and quiet at 6am, all the widlife just waking up and no background trafic noise, mmm, s'nice
The fox was cocky as you like strolling thru the gym carpark! There's loads of them down here and as I say cocky but they probably have to be to feed themselves and cubs?

Another 40min walk this am, a bit damp but just dewey & cloudy not wet and nowhere near as cold as yesterday!
Meals the same as yesterday bar 6pm when I had rice chhkn.
The raw veggies on meal 4 are helping no end!
an hours cardio tonight 20 stairmaster and 30 treadmill, got bored on treadmill so did last 10 back on stairmaster.
Then did some weighted crunches (3/4 x 10), one of the instructors showed me how to do them using the plate of the assited dip/ pull up machine, it'll be good variation, you can get a great range of movement.
Now late having supper but mark let me interupt prison break to do my quater turns and a few poses before I hopped in shower He WILL get invloved and help me, even if it's just watching me pose in my undies and not cooking my oaty/ omellette pancake whilst I'm in the shower!?!

It's raining at mo, hopefully it stops by am for walkies.
xx
Nite Nite all xx

Re:Figure Contestant Wanabe - 26 March 2010 08:28
Did you not do anything else in place of the skullcrushers? What bar are you using? The EZ/curl bar is better and only weighs 10kg so can't see you struggling with that with what you are pressing........and by the way it should be biceps with chest . The EZ bar is also easier on the wrists during the movement. If you still struggle with these then you could switch to dumbells but be careful of cracking your head with them like I usually do

If you're getting a stitch on the treadmill just slow it down a little, the incline is good to work on the glutes so don't completely sacrifice it. Up the stepper to 30mins too or if you find the duration of the peaks too long to sustain then split the program into 2 lots of 15mins.

Great news on being headhunter, it's good booster for the ego and get you with the baggy trousers and celebrity articles !!

Seriously, well done on stepping up the mark this week. Be interesting to see the weight/inch loss but the fact that you're at the stage where trousers are getting baggy is so lifting.

I was using an ezzee, and whilst the weight of it is ezee, getting in position is not!?! I'm gonna do myself an injury, need to have someone pass bar to me, which I haven't got!?!
Didn't do anything in it's place as I was then in a bad mood, hormones n all! Will do something extra nxt time/ try DB's. Tris feeling dips today tho.

Tried to do 30 on stair, but failed at 20, I'll get there. I'll get even more pissed of if I go any slower on tread!
Not feeling so slim today, bloody hormones! But that can an change in an hour and then back again eh!?!

40 cardio this am and an hour tonight both outside, got a bit wet tonight but rather that than the dreadmill
Will do stair when in gym on weights pm's.

Feeling hungry now? So of to bed with another cuppa.
Weigh in tomorrow, eeek!
& measure and photos for end of shape up comp and 'avin me 'air done!
Of course I'll update you all asap!

40mins power done, eggs cooked to perfection again, tho I say it myself!
Will post stats/ photos etc later/ tomorrow, not confident of how to use photobucket and get photos on here.
BUT....
I can update that I've lost 4lb!!!
I hadn't lost anything last week before the seminar but 'things' weren't 'moving' and the extra green veg in revised diet this week has worked wonders, so I reckon that's helped a LOT!
Hormones still making me feel a bit, dunno, but having hair done should make me feel better eh?!

Re:Figure Contestant Wanabe - 28 March 2010 13:25
Woah! I wasn't gonna give up! I was contemplating changing goal from BNBF Central/ Northern to NPA in September but not giving up completely. But we're aiming for BNBF all guns balzing with the NPA in reserve if I do need extra time

So yesterday I did my am cardio and then got coiffured Quick dash to Sainsburys, got some two chicks for in freezer for emergency easy protein, the woman on check out never even commented that I’d bought 2.5L of liquid egg whites + 6 boxes of dozen eggs!!! LOL

I then skived my weights WO as I couldn’t bring myself to ruin a fabulous blowdry. Justification:
1.       It cost a bloody fortune!
2.       I was being taken out last night
3.       I only get hair done once every 6 months, therefore will not be a regular psychological wrangle.
Dinner last night was lovely, Mark & I had fun, had steak + chips.
1 hour cardio done this am, did an extra 20mins to make up for missed session yesterday, weights n cardio later.
Was due to go the BNBF meet at monster today but haven’t gone.  Totally forgot about clocks!??! AM cardio was late and it’s an hours drive round M25, and back, and after driving to Manchester last w/e I wasn’t looking forward to it.
I struggled thru this week, quite successfully it must be said, but not as organised/ prepped as I’d have liked which has meant bed 30mins later than I’d like/ need, so wanted to take today to get properly organised/prepped for week.
We’re off to Manchester+Newcastle over Easter and we like to set off 4/5am to miss traffic. To do that Fri am, and not miss any sessions this week, I need to also prep for next week today!
Plus having bits of housey stuff to do that I didn’t do last w/e with being away.

So food all prepped/planned for next 2 weeks and outfits with jewellery ready to pack also!
In Manchester Fri-Sun I’ll be stuck for a gym so no weights WO’s but will get out power walking. I had thought about trying to get along to Olympic, but it’s 30mins drive there and back plus WO and not open till 10am over w/e so would eat into day a bit much and family will ‘pull their faces’. So I’ll get up early for walk and then I can shower and have breakfast with them all and they’ll be none the wiser really! PM sessions may or may not be an issue, if ‘they’ are all just lazing around watching TV then I can just nick off out for another power walk, but I’ll have to play it by ear, I can’t handle the confrontation/ aggravation if it’s going to be an issue/ cause too many questions. As we’re staying with family food won’t be a problem tho, I wana save cheat for the nice hotel we’re staying at in Newcastle. The Easter Sunday meal would be the only one to negotiate we won’t be going out for dinner at all as my neice is only 15 months and I am confident enough to even get my mum to weigh my food on Easter Sun, she can ‘go do one’ on that count! (oo, I’m supposed to say ‘jog on’ now aren’t I? That’s wot all the kidz are saying?!?).  I’ll prep some food here to take to Newcastle as there’s a fridge in our room,  & kettle for oats.

In Newcastle Mon-Wed, hotel we’re staying at is round the corner from a DL I can use, so no issues with WO’s at all! There may be couple of meals out to negotiate, one as I say will be my cheat (Mon), the hotel have a Michelin chef and the taster menu is divine! And I know they do poached egg with smoked haddock for breakii too so no issues there. Tues we’re at his mothers for lunch and she’s a pescetarian so salmon salad, I just have to control my potion.  Back at hotel that evening mark may order room service but I’ll have my chkn n rice (in fridge).  Wed could be lunch and dinner out with friends so I’ll just have to be strong “ never complain, never explain” There’ll be chkn or white fish n salad/ veggies on menus, just hold all the sauces/ butter, mmm thinking about it, I’m gonna take my magic garlic grinder with me in case I literally have to order plain grilled chkn and veggies!
Home Thursday, so chkn n rice in car/ at services.
Normal service resumes Friday, Phew! xx

Gonna have a look at photobucket later and hopefully get photos up.

Re:Figure Contestant Wanabe - 28 March 2010 14:36
Funnily enough, I too forgot about the clocks. Got out of bed and took dog out immediately and walked up the lane  with a neighbour who then asked me if I'd done the clocks. Fortunately no impact on my day.

Pity you didn't make the club as I think it would have just spurred you on a tad more but sounds like you're doing well anyway.

Preparation is certainly a key part of sticking to the plan but it's all been a change for you this week. You'll settle into a routine and it will get easier.

The travelling will be the testing time. If you have to stop at a services then make sure it's one with M&S as at least you can grab roast chicken/salmon and salads. I just think they're a godsend to us bodybuilders and anyone dieting!!

One thing you could do when you know you're eating out at night is to just have your carbs at brekkie and then no more during the day apart from the meal out. Not ideal to do everyday but it allows you to limit the damage and enjoy your night out without worrying too much over measuring what you're having.

Don't worry about missing the occasional weight session, it's not going to impact that greatly but being able to keep the cardio will help especially if you're going to have a little more than planned. Maybe on those days upping the cardio to one hour in the morning is a good compromise. If it's a nice day then suggest everyone gets out for a walk and kill two birds with one stone

Don't make the situation confrontational, as you said, don't explain, say you're not that hungry if they comment you're not eating much.

Most of all, enjoy the time with the family

wow Fifi what a write up!  Have a lovely time.  Hotels are usually great if you ask them to do certain meals for you (i.e. no sauce plain veg etc) as long as you let them know.  Looks like its full speed ahead we are with you all the way hun.  As for closer members of family I agree with Kitty avoid the confrontation.  Be strong, enjoy and get out in that fresh air hopefully it will a scorcher!! xx

Salmon Stirfryfor supper all other meals the usual suspects!
Kitty has had a sneak pre-view on ShapeUp comp pics and has given VERY positive feedback, so exciting that I could be in the running for that. I am being totally blonde and cannot post photos here, so check my link in signature, prob after 4th as that's the cut off date, I've asked Hazel to post them for me.
I may have time at Easter to investigate posting pics, I'll take laptop away with me.

Those of you on FB will know I'm all prepped ready, lol! I can post photos there!

The photos Fi is referring to show a fabulous progress since the start of the cut, if she can make that much improvement again then I'm sure she'll be ready for stage in time.

Thnx for diet tips kitty and thnx for popping in everyone!

Quick update as I want to get to bed!
Flippin slept in this am! Forgot to reset alarm from it being set later at w/e!
Diet spot on, an hours cardio tonight: 20 recumbant bike (just couldn't face pain on dreadmill and absolutelt pissing down here!) 20 LifeFitness StepClimber thingy, 15 Stairmaster, 5 bike, plus quarter turns and a few poses, feeling better, but can only hold then for 20secs or so.
A few ladies I see regular at the gym commented tonight that I looked like I'd lost a lot of weight, so feeling quite positive at mo.

Hope it's dry in the am, I really want some fresh air!
